Good point!!!

For a Cop, Luke is so amateur!!! How come surveillance was not all around the place? Asa was even more psychopath than before and the rapes were just cruel!
It would be even more frustating not to have a HEA and get to know whose baby that is....

This is CoHo's latest Facebook post!! I laughed so hard!!
Please do not dissect the following post too thoroughly with the intention of finding something personally offensive. I'm both concerned AND amused by the honest confusion I speak of in this post, so this is all in fun. Except for #7.
There's a character in one of my books that is legit screwed up. His actions, his thoughts, the things that spew from his mouth. Throughout the whole book, he says and does things that are morally incomprehensible at best.
Readers love to hate him.
Toward the end of the book while we're in his POV, there's a paragraph of thought where he talks about this country and how screwed up the judicial system is. His rationale is ridiculous, but that's the least of his issues.
I can't stop laughing and I'm also a tiny bit concerned, because there are some people who are legit pissed off at me about this character's thoughts in this particular scene. I've received a lot of feedback about this part of the story in particular. Warnings stating, "THIS is how an author loses readers!" and "Authors should never use their novels to promote their own political agendas!"
Y'all!
This character raped people. He murdered people. And it's his POLITICS that pushed people over the edge? Me thinks we have some priorities out of whack.
I'm scared some of us are forgetting that authors are not the characters they create. Thankfully, the majority of us know the difference and appreciate when characters are over-the-top. But for those who do not understand the concept of imagination, I've compiled a fun list of pointers on how to read a work of fiction and get the most out of the experience.
1) When a character murders someone in a scene, do not call the police in real life. No one was actually murdered. It's just a book.
2) When a character cheats on his/her significant other, do not assume the author does not know how to be monogamous in his/her own marriage. It's just a book. (This pointer was written specifically for my husband, who still hasn't made it past the first five chapters in Maybe Someday because he struggles with where the line is drawn between his wife's imagination and his wife's actual morals.)
3) If a character doesn't believe in God, chances are, this does not mean the author worships Satan. Please do not send promotional religious materials in the mail to the author. The author's soul is probably fine.
4) Sometimes authors make up entire cities. If you see that Plethora, Maine, is not actually a real city in Maine, the author probably made it up because it's fiction and making up fake towns is fun. You don't have to refer to the author as a "geographical idiot" in your message to them. :)
5) If you read a book and a character says something homophobic or racist, that means the character is homophobic or racist. It does not mean the author shares the same views as the character who is a pathetic homophobe or racist.
6) If a character slut-shames another character, this does not mean the author is slut-shaming, nor does it mean the author negatively judges people who have slutty tendencies. In fact, the author could very well be an actual slut in real life, while writing through the POV of a virgin who thinks everyone in her life is a whore.
7) Book boyfriends are not real!
OMG I'm just kidding. Seriously, I'm kidding, they're totally real. I didn't mean to scare you. I'm sorry, this was just mean.
8) If an author writes a character who is a hard-core republican, it doesn't mean the author is in love with Donald Trump. If a character assassinates a republican candidate in a work of fiction, it does not mean the author is a democrat with a death wish on all republicans. In fact, some authors (Me. I'm talking about me) are politically ignorant and embarrassed at their lack of political knowledge, but they still sometimes write about characters who are not politically inept.
That's all I have for right now. If you know someone who struggles with any of the above, I hope these guidelines for reading fiction can help. May we all continue to respect the imagination for what it is...A beautiful and terrifying place that does not actually exist.
*No sluts, aside from the author, were shamed in the writing of this post.

I really don't understand why some people are so mean, will make such mean comments. (From what I read in CoHo's reply above).

I totally agree!
OMG CoHo is the BEST!! That made me laugh so hard!!! Great and fun reminder to the people who write those unnecessary comments!
