If you have any comments to make about the book that do not mention specifics of the book, use this thread. PLEASE, KEEP IN MIND: do not give any spoilers! The discussion about particular segments of the story was divided, so the members of the group can make comments as they move further on the reading, without the risk of encountering spoilers in the middle of the conversations.

If you have any interesting material about The Master and Margarita and Mikhail Bulgakov that you think it is relevant and works as an aid while reading the book, go ahead and share it here…

I just love Patti Smith... This woman is so amazing! This is a short clip of her making a reference to TMAM (and Gogol, how cool is she?)

She's the coolest woman of rock 'n roll (with Annie Lennox and Cindy Lauper and Debbie Harry).

Yeah !!! It is great, isn't. I did laugh a great deal while reading chapter 10 or 11.

Samanta (almacubana) | 183 comments Haven't gotten that far yet, but I'll keep an eye open when I get there.

Hahahahaha....my TMAM catching up is at the moment reserved for the periods of commuting from home to work and vice versa.

You're really funny, girls! I'm stuck at Chapter 12 at the moment.
I have to study and the only commuting periods I have are dedicated to driving. Grrr. And, in the evening, I just fall asleep. Re-grrrr.

I wish I could read ALL day long.

Cynthia, you are now part of HBC. We are having the first Readathon this Saturday, 24 hours of reading.

Have you ever taken part of a Readathon, Samanta? I always thought it was interesting, but I wanted to know how is the experience from someone who has done it.

I've participated in 6 readathons last year and I have to tell you that those are my favorite days in the year. I literally have a legit excuse to read 24 hours. :D It's quite fun. Everybody who participates starts Saturday 08:00 a.m. (according to their own time zone) and reads until Sunday 08:00 a.m. (or however long they want/can). In the group where I participate, we have very strict rules of conduct (being an admin, it's still not easy :D), and we have to check-in every 4 hours with the details of what we were reading, how much we were reading, how many pages were read and so forth, but I love every minute of it.

That is so stimulating... Are people free to choose what to read or is there a specific book?

During Readathon you can read whatever you want. Fiction, non-fiction, your choice.

Today it is Mikhaïl Bulgakov's birthday!

Nigeyb I really enjoyed this book but, as it was about 7-8 years ago since I read it, I can't add much more than that. That cat still looms large though.

Would be an opportunity to read it again ;-)

Nigeyb ^ Yes indeed. I probably won't though - too many other books I want to read for the first time
