I was following the highlights from Canada Reads last week and I am looking forward to reading this. The debates were very well done and it really makes you want to try all the books. I'm not surprised this book won. The author has a wonderful reputation and Clara Hughes did a fantastic job defending him.
I enjoyed this book and was very lucky to meet him when he came to Hamilton! After reading all 5 of the Canada Reads, i enjoyed them all but this was not my first pick. I agree that Clara Hughes did a fantastic job.
Clara Hughes did a fantastic job defending this book. This book does take a little time to get started. Once you get into it, though, the book starts to take off.

For those not already in the know, let me introduce you to Keita Ali. Keitan is on the run; running for respect, for riches, and for his own survival. After being targeted for his father's political views, Keita escapes to Freedom State. His escape, however, is elusive as he runs from those that would deport him back to his homeland, back to certain death.
This fast pace and compelling read will keep your heart racing along side Keita, and give you a glimpse into the world of those living on the edges of society.
