Jodhan Ford | 20 comments I am not certain where to even start. I read the "read this first" posts, but I am still looking at the threads and not certain where to start. I finished my latest revision for my novel and I am close to publishing. But when I look at the different sections you have I am confused as to which one is where I should post my request. I also am not sure what length or how many chapters I can request. I am happy to swap with others too. My post may seem nieve or dumb, but I can get lost in my own laptop sometimes! I like clear cut instructions/directions. i just don't want to be lost in the shuffle and end up in a folder somewhere at the back.

arriki | 63 comments I know what you mean. I am new to all this, too. I did reach several beta readers. It seems they are booked up for a couple of months. Still, I sent my novel to them. I'm somewhere in their queues.

Jodhan Ford | 20 comments is there some established rule that once you drop you work in the beta folder that it has to sit there until a 'registered' beta reader takes it or has promised too? I am not certain where to post exactly. But are you interested in doing some beta reading? We could swap work if it doesn't break some 'rule', since I am brand new and still trying to find my place?

arriki | 63 comments If it's sf, I may be interested. I read mysteries for relaxation but prefer sf -- NO FANTASIES!
Drop in a "registered" beta folder? What's that?
Look online. I'll try to send you what I got.

arriki | 63 comments One possible source of beta readers is Writer Unboxed. This is an online writing magazine – and they also maintain a Facebook page. I’m sure there are some reader-exchange setups, where someone will read your manuscript in return for your reading theirs. You can find them at www.writerunboxed.com. The Facebook pages is https://www.facebook.com/groups/write.... It’s a closed group, so you have to ask to join, but I don’t think they put up a very high bar. As long as you’re not using your posts to sell herbal supplements, I think you’re good.

Jodhan Ford | 20 comments Define fantasy. Mine is a mix. It's in the future 600 years, the world fell to pieces, the ancient mythological gods are running everything. There is both technology and some magic.

You can look at the first few chapters here: If it interests you let me know.
