Suggested break down of reading so that you can check in and let us know how you're going. The following breakdown is purely a suggestion and is therefore not set in stone.

Rather than putting dates for each section I've done it so that it takes into account that not everybody will necessarily have the book at the same time.

I've started reading it. The style of writing reads like fiction so it's very readable. Unbelieveable to think that that could happen. I'm going to read it per week as suggested by Zara. I'll post more with spoilers when I've finished the first part.

I've started too. Liking it a lot, although it's quite painful to read sometimes.

Hi Gabriella, how are you getting on with the book?

Part 1 (view spoiler)[ This book has left an impression on me. It is inconceivable to see that this could have happened, a free man becoming a slave, but it is not an isolated incident. The greed and evil of man makes me so sad. How heartbreaking, Eliza, the mother being split up from her children. Again I presumed that families would be kept together. Horrible. Solomon comes across as intelligent. I'm glad he managed to get a letter to his family. Can you imagine not knowing where he is, probably thinking he's dead and then reading that he's become a slave? So sad. (hide spoiler)]

Part 2 I've finished Chapter 13
(view spoiler)[ This Tibeats, what an evil man. How power can make people so twisted. All the whippings and degradation. Solomon would have been dead if it hadn't been for the agreement. Being chased by dogs - it's just like hunting. Thankfully he has a good person to help him. (hide spoiler)]
