MadProfessah (madprofesssah) | 76 comments Other books about ground breaking tech's aftermath would be:

Peter Hamilton's COMMONWEALTH saga (Judas Unchained/Pandora's Star)

Marcus Sakey's BRILLIANCE trilogy

Charles Gannon's CAINE trilogy

it has been a while since i read judas unchained but i think hamilton skipped over the whole political and social turmoil that happens after such a paradigm shifting tech is invented. granted there were some flashbacks but he didn't really address how ozzy and nigel took over the world.

Jason Williams | 1 comments I'm enjoying the Nexus series although I wouldn't say I'm enamored with it.

Alastair Reynolds kind of did the same with much of his Revelation Space series; however, he did touch upon it in some of his short works in the same series ... I'm thinking of one story at least in his Galactic North compilation.

Ha! Well, I don't know about Jason, but I've rated several books as 4-star because I thought the books were well written ... but I wasn't too much into them because they weren't books I would normally read (genre issue, not book issue). Ratings for some people aren't just an "I like it" meter. If you're honest with yourself you can sometimes tell that a book is really well done even if it's not your cup of tea.

I'll second Signal to Noise as well as Charles Gannon's books, they're both fantastic!
