Finally finished this book! It felt like it took me forever. While I liked the writing style even though it was slow, I really enjoyed that the book was in essence a love story about reading. Something I could relate to ;).I liked the story and the reveals - some I could see coming and some I couldn't (view spoiler)
Although now that I've had 24 hours to digest I will say I'm very disappointed in the female characters. They seemed so flat and one-dimensional - more products of male fantasy and idealization than actual characters.
Glad I read but will prob stay away from this author in the future.
Yup it is, a few of us discussed further up in the thread whether we'd carry on reading the series.
Do you plan to?

I've read all the books in the series already and am anxiously waiting for the next. Though the last one was a bit disappointing.

Janina wrote: "I'm not sure I understand the question .. are you asking about the content of the books?"Yes. Whose story does the next book focus on?
It's a prequel focusing on a writer called David Martin .. Still the cemetery and Sempere bookstore .. Also an ancestor of Daniel. The books are all connected, but everything should (perhaps) come together in the fourth (and final) .. afaik

Truly one of the most beautiful and magical books I have ever read. A book you're heartbroken to finish and long to re-read. This is always at the top of my list when someone asks me about my favorite books of all time. I cannot imagine NOT enjoying this book, but different strokes for different folks I guess...
I loved it. It's not my favorite book in the world but it was a great read. I agree that it was a bit longer than necessary, and I found a few parts a little unbelievable, but it was beautifully written and I'm truly glad I read it. I will definitively continue with the series!
