I blasted through a few more Animorphs books yesterday. Be Not Far From Me was one of my most anticipated reads of 2020 and I gave it 3.75 stars. I liked the story overall, and it was great to see a female-gaze outdoorsy-survival kind of book, but it felt like something was missing, and the writing seemed a little sloppy. Probably because I've come to hold McGinnis's work to a high standard and this was just unexpected, but I did like it very much.
This week I read two books. So, here's what I read, along with my reviews.Survive
by Vera Nazarian
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
If I could give this more than five stars, I totally would! I've been dying to read this one ever since finishing the other three books in the series,
and can tell you it was well worth the wait. It's a long book, but needs to be; it's just the right length to tell the part of the story it needs to tell.
I was torn between being desperate to know what happens, so wanting to keep reading until I was done, and wanting to take my time with it so I could spend
as long as possible with the characters. The worldbuilding is incredible, the descriptions are beautiful, the characters are well-rounded (and it's great
to see how they've developed as the series has progressed) and the plot moves at a perfect pace. The series as a whole is awesome, and this book is the
perfect ending to it, even if part of me wishes there was more, just so I could spend more time in the world, and with the characters - especially Aeson.
The Law of Three and Other Relationships
by Barbara G. Tarn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This is another great collection of sweet stories by this author.
I finished Shadowshaper Legacy this afternoon. Excellent conclusion to one of my favorite trilogies!
Finished my re-read of Pride and Prejudice. Finishing up All the Stars and Teeth then either going to finish City of Ashes or start a re-read of ACOTAR.
This week I only read one book, because it was quite a long one. So, here's what I read, along with my book review.Outlander
by Diana Gabaldon
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I'm glad I decided to go with the audio version of this, because I dread to think how hard it would have been to read most of it with a screen reader of
some kind. It took some getting used to even with the audio version... Enough that I very nearly deducted a star for it. However, since apart from the
Scottish dialect taking a bit to get used to, I loved this book, I'm giving it the full five stars. The historical aspects were fascinating, and the characters
were interesting. I look forward to the next book.
Victoria, yay! It took me a year to get through Outlander! There was no way I could read the print version because of the Scottish dialect. I did love the narration though. I’m finally up to book 5 on audio. It takes me about 8 months or more to get through an audiobook. I listen in bursts.

I’m finally up to book 5..."I'm not surprised it takes you so long. I'm now about a third of the way through the second book, but that's only because I'm listening to the audio books literally every chance I can. While bathing Artemis, while playing ball with Lilie and Logan, while washing dishes, while... Well, you get the idea. *wink*
I've just started in on
- I don't know why I've put off continuing this series for so long given how much I love the Six of Crows Duology.
Karen’s Library yes I’m going to be reading all of those books at the same time and wow is right Karen’s Library
A week or so ago I finished The Dream Thieves and I have 25 pages left to finish Scythe!!!! I never thought I’d like a dystopian book like Scythe but I absolutely loved it!!! Next up because I have to read two books at once will be A Thousand Splendid Suns and Thunderhead!!!!
Finishing up
today - a beautifully-told story, although I think the story itself could have been better, if that makes sense? And still plugging away at
since I finished Two Towers a few nights ago.
Rose (BeautyAndABook) wrote: "I finished Scythe today!!!! What a great book and a great ending!!!!!"Such a good book!! Glad you enjoyed it, Rose!
Finished my re-read of ACOMAF and started on my re-read of ACOWAR last night. After this I’m going to binge read the last Shatter Me books because Imagine Me just arrived this morning.
Decided to focus on getting through my Owcrate books before I get into finishing the Shatter Me series. Started The Kingdom of Back and I gotta say, it’s not really wowing me right now. There is somethinv keeping me going, but I feel like the story is very flat and robotic.
Hello everyone! Since our quarantine started here, I finished The Dragon Republic by RF Kuang and House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J. Maas. Now I started reading The Cruel Prince by Holly Black :)
