Elora Mitchell | 449 comments Victoria is absolutely right!!!
I was a huge reader as a kid/teenager, then had to put fun books down for college as I devoured textbooks. After college was marriage/kids/adulting and I wasn’t able to pick up a book again for about 8 years. And I had forgotten how much I loved reading.
Squeeze it that joy when you can. ☺️

A bit boring and snobbish yet also it had great parts.
Defently a fun book if you like libraries.

Karen’s Library wrote: "David, do you have a plan for book 2??"

Nooooo! Don't ask me that! LOL I'm ashamed to say I am months and maybe more than a year from planning the sequel. I have a bunch of other balls in the year, most of which are sort of secret? For one, I am ghostwriting a novel for a lesser celebrity (actor, model, private equity fund manager). He is paying me well, but the book, if it's ever published, will have his name on it, not mine, and under my contract I cannot tell anyone I wrote it. It's weird but sort of enjoyable at the same time!

Also, I have several pen name projects going too, which I've been working on for a while now. They are outside of my normal YA market (MUCH more adult), hence the use of pen names. All said and done, I'll probably be done with my backlog of projects around September. Then I'm hoping to start on my next epic fantasy series in the same vein as Fatemarked, which means the Star-Born Mage sequel will be put on the backburner for a while.

Recently finished:
The Belles (The Belles #1) by Dhonielle Clayton 3 stars. Great world and premise, but I only liked one side character. The MC was particularly annoying.

Breakwater (Broken Tides #1) by Catherine Jones Payne 3.5 stars. I liked this world, the politics, and the general plot. Another super annoying MC though. But a quick read and good palate cleanser.

The Immortalists by Chloe Benjamin 4 stars, Strong read, although very sad. The book posed a great central question that I'm still thinking about.

Sadie by Courtney Summers 4 stars. Good mystery, but so sad and hard to read in parts. I love how the book was written, going between a podcast and the MC's thoughts.

Brown Girl Dreaming by Jacqueline Woodson 4 stars. A really good story about childhood, family, and racism in the 60s and 70s. And it was written in verse, which I liked.

Currently reading:
Warcross (Warcross, #1) by Marie Lu really liking it so far
Throne of Glass (Throne of Glass, #1) by Sarah J. Maas enjoying my reread!
Going to be starting Lord of Shadows (The Dark Artifices, #2) by Cassandra Clare soon.

Wow, you've been busting out the books!! Nice!

I have NOT! Work is killing me with 60 - 65 hour work weeks this month. I've been too brain dead to read so was spending my few free hours binging Game of Thrones. I finished last night so now I'm going through GoT withdrawals. Hahaha!

I did just finish listening to a reread of Six of Crows (Six of Crows, #1) by Leigh Bardugo . And I hope to finish Satellite by Nick Lake today. I'm still trudging through Innocent Traitor by Alison Weir
