Forgot home much I love the book series. Me and my kids have watched the movies at least every 3 months lol

Elora Mitchell | 449 comments You were right, Jenny. ☺️ Book 3 of the Grisha Trilogy was fantastic! I’d forgotten most of what had happened in the series and am so glad I reread it. It was much easier to understand after having read SoC—once I understood who the Shu and Fjierdans were.

Welcome back, Alison!

The only reason I haven't re-read or re-watched Harry Potter recently is because we've been doing some organizing, and right now I can't get to them. ;)

Recently finished:

Crazy Rich Asians (Crazy Rich Asians, #1) by Kevin Kwan 3.5 stars. It started off pretty good, but really dragged in the middle. But I did love the ending!

Spindle Fire (Spindle Fire #1) by Lexa Hillyer this was a good retelling of Sleeping Beauty. Added in a lot of other characters and world building, so that was interesting. 4 stars

Oryx and Crake (MaddAddam, #1) by Margaret Atwood really liked this one. It was different, but I loved all the flashbacks and the way the story was told. 4 stars

Saga, Vol. 2 (Saga, #2) by Brian K. Vaughan 5 stars. Love these graphic novels! The art is fantastic.

Right now I'm reading The Spectacular Sisterhood of Superwomen Awesome Female Characters from Comic Book History by Hope Nicholson which is really interesting!

Going to be starting Starcrossed (Starcrossed, #1) by Josephine Angelini and The Belles (The Belles #1) by Dhonielle Clayton soon!

I finished One Giant Leap (Dare Mighty Things, #2) by Heather Kaczynski . 4 stars

Now I'm reading our David Estes's Star-Born Mage (The Godstar Chronicles, #1) by David Estes . I just hit a pretty big reveal which I didn't see coming. Typical David brilliance! This is a bit of Star Wars meets the Guardians of the Galaxy meets Firefly.

I'm on a mission to reread the whole series and then read Kingdom of Ash. I'm going so slooooowww at it though...but I think I will be picking up Throne of Glass again soon. Its calling my name! I'm on page 93 of my reread. Already reread The Assassin's Blade.

Finished reading:

Starcrossed (Starcrossed, #1) by Josephine Angelini liked this one way more than I was expecting to. It has some of the normal eye-rolling YA tropes, but I loved the Greek Mythology aspect, and all the twists! I never knew what was going to happen next, and who was really the bad guy at times!

The Spectacular Sisterhood of Superwomen Awesome Female Characters from Comic Book History by Hope Nicholson I really liked this, learned about tons of comics I'd never heard of!

Thor, Volume 1 The Goddess of Thunder by Jason Aaron Enjoyable graphic novel.

Right now I'm reading The Belles (The Belles #1) by Dhonielle Clayton which has a really interesting world! I'm not too far in yet.

Barely started Breakwater (Broken Tides #1) by Catherine Jones Payne late last night, so far so good! (I love mermaid stories)

And going to be starting The Immortalists by Chloe Benjamin soon!

First off, I want to apologize for not being around much (meaning not at all!). My life has been, well, crazy. I got a day job 18 months ago because sales of my backlist fell off a cliff and my wife and I were planning a second child (we now have two boys, 3yo Beau and 3mo Brody). I released Fatemarked a few months before I started the day job, as well as two of the sequels. After I started the position (Internal Auditor at the University of Hawaii), I released books four and five. The series sold extremely well in year one and then became a #1 bestseller in nine categories. *big sigh of relief* We were able to make the decision to stay in Hawaii and we bought a house and moved. Life is good, but still busy as any of you with kids understands. I am going to try to come around more because I miss all of you! As for what I am reading, this is somewhat pathetic, but nothing. My spare time is limited so I mostly use it to write these days. I miss reading! I'm hoping to figure out a way to squeeze it in soon :) Anyway, thank you all SO MUCH for being in this group for so long and keeping it alive! YOU ROCK.

Thanks all! Mr. Brody is SO cute and a super sweet little easy-going guy (the opposite of Beau who is in the demon-child phase :)

Dang, Heidi, sorry to hear that. Just lost interest or do you have other interests/responsibilities taking up your time these days? Either way, good to hear from you too!

Sophia (Bookwyrming Thoughts) (hannahsophialin) Aww congratulations, David! It's good to hear from you. I've been busy as well now that I'm no longer in high school (wow, has it been THAT long ago I was here) and in college...

Thanks Jenny! It's okay, I just need to MAKE TIME to read, one way or another. I have an half hour commute to and from work so I should think about listening to audiobooks, just haven't done it yet. SOON :)

David!!! I’ve been seeing pics of Beau and Brody on Facebook from your wifey. Those are some cutie patootie boys!! You did good! And WOW... Congrats on the Fatemarked audiobook winning the SOVA award! That’s HUGE! And I just finished your newest book, Star-Born Mage. Another 5 star read for me!! We’ve missed you, but I understand. Babies, a new house, work, writing... Definitely try audiobooks so you can put your commute to good use. 😉🥰

It does. O_O I'm not ready to fully fully adult yet, lol. I'm studying communications at the moment.

I wish I could do audiobooks again but 15 minutes isn't worth it. It probably is in the long run though?
