I finished Dragonfly in Amber (Outlander, #2) by Diana Gabaldon and now listening to Voyager (Outlander, #3) by Diana Gabaldon . I had to lower my challenge because of all the behemoth books I've read this year.

I also read Dumplin' by Julie Murphy Fantastic Beasts The Crimes of Grindelwald - The Original Screenplay by J.K. Rowling and Renegades (Renegades, #1) by Marissa Meyer

I'm not going to make my reading goal this year either. I'd need to finish the book I'm reading, plus read another 20 books. I don't think that's going to happen before the end of the month. Some of the books I read have been kind of long, so that hasn't helped. But I also lost a lot of reading time to life stuff I've been dealing with. I'm not bothering to change the number on my challenge goal though. I'll just leave it as is, and admit I didn't make it.

I really liked Spellcaster as well! I have yet to read the rest of the trilogy, hopefully I will soon!

I finished November with reading 17 books! Since some of them were huge I think I did really great. My Tome Topple really suffered the last few days though!

I finished my reread of Lady Midnight (The Dark Artifices, #1) by Cassandra Clare and it was fantastic! I love this series so far, hoping to read Lord of Shadows soon.

I also finished Pride by Ibi Zoboi because I needed to read another retelling for a challenge. This is a modern day Pride and Prejudice. I liked the story and the romance was cute, but the street slang about did me in. The same words used over and over and over again gets so tiresome. I know that's a teenager's world, but still. I rated it 3 stars.

And finally I finished The Enchantress (The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel, #6) by Michael Scott !!! This was a really good ending to the series. I started this series in 2009 I think, so I'm thrilled to have finally finished it! I'm terrible at finishing series, as most of you probably know! I rated this one 4 stars.

I'm still reading The Book of Life (All Souls Trilogy, #3) by Deborah Harkness I'm afraid I've started to get a bit bored. I like the series best when we are discovering things of the past, places and objects and people. Right now its a personal family drama thing that's happening, and its just not what I want to read about I guess. I'm hoping I will finish this book by the end of the year, I'm just going to go slow.

I started The Glass Ocean by Beatriz Williams which I've been wanting to read for a long while, and so far I'm loving it! Its a historical fiction researching a mystery that happened on the fateful last voyage of the Lusitania. Its told from 3 POVs: Sarah, who is is a modern day author researching the mystery; Caroline who was a first class passenger on the ship; and Tess, who is a 2nd class passenger and a con artist.

I started Hell Divers (Hell Divers #1) by Nicholas Sansbury Smith on audio but also on Kindle. I bought books 2 and 3 on Kindle because I heard it's a cliffhanger. Good post-apocalypse thriller!

hmm.. I read the alhemist series years ago, I hated\disliked the way it ended. I just thought it was too confusing and stuff. Each to his own. Glad you enjoyed it.

I used to have that series issue. That's why I now try to read as many of the books in a series as I can back to back. It's not a fool-proof method, but it's helped me finish a couple of series.

Also, great you read so many books in November!

I've been working on finished my Alphabet Kindle challenge, so I've read:

What Child Is This by Rhys Bowen 3 stars, it was a cute and somewhat heartbreaking Christmas short story

Ms. Marvel, Vol. 1 No Normal by G. Willow Wilson 4 stars, I really liked this graphic novel.

The Lost Sisters (The Folk of the Air, #1.5) by Holly Black 4 stars, a really good short story told from Taryn's POV in The Cruel Prince

Expelled (Sweet, #0.5) by Emmy Laybourne 4 stars this is a chilling prequel story to Sweet.

I also finished The Glass Ocean by Beatriz Williams 4 stars, I really enjoyed this book! A good mystery, great cast of characters, and interesting setting.

I also read Weird Arizona Your Travel Guide to Arizona's Local Legends and Best Kept Secrets by Wesley Treat which was an Advent book Karen gave me. I marked several pages of places I want to visit there!

Right now I'm reading Girls of Paper and Fire (Girls of Paper and Fire, #1) by Natasha Ngan , which is fabulous, and getting ready to start A Cotswold Christmas (Willoughby Close #1) by Kate Hewitt because I'm in that Christmasy mood!

message 3921: by Victoria (new)

Victoria Zigler (toriz) | 4472 comments I'm starting Christmasy reads as soon as I finish the book I'm reading now, which is David's latest release, Star-Born Mage (I'd have finished that last night, but I got so tired I had no choice but to put it down and sleep... Planning to read the last couple of chapters tonight).

I finished Girls of Paper and Fire (Girls of Paper and Fire, #1) by Natasha Ngan solid 4 star read, I really enjoyed it!

Also read Jake and the Other Girl (Monument 14, #1.5) by Emmy Laybourne which was a good short story.

The Girl Who Kissed a Lie (Otherworld, #0.5) by Skylar Dorset which is a prequel novella. I really like this series!

A Cotswold Christmas (Willoughby Close #1) by Kate Hewitt which was a cute little "America girl goes to little England village and falls in love" holiday story.

I also finished Vassa in the Night by Sarah Porter which blew me away, 5 stars! A cross between a dark Grimm fairytale and Alice in Wonderland.

I'm halfway through The Fire Queen (The Hundredth Queen, #2) by Emily R. King which I'm enjoying.

I guess I'm ending the year on a bang, reading wise!

I'm reading Light Years by Kass Morgan on my Kindle, and listening to Broken Lands by Jonathan Maberry on audible.

Both are good, but Broken Lands is amazing!! It's a continuation of the Rot and Ruin series! I'm so happy the author decided to jump back into this world. 😬
