I loved the whole Helen of Troy vibe!

Sorry you had to go to the dentist, but glad you had some audiobooks to keep you company. Hope you don't have to go back for a while.
Unfortunately, I have a whole dental plan this year. 🤭 2 appts in February, one in April so far, and I’ll try to plan the rest I need for this summer. I need lots of work done. I’ve been saving just for this. The good news is lots of audiobooks time! 🎧😝

At least you're thinking positive and looking on the bright side...
So, my 3 day weekend readathon is over. I read a total of 1,551 pages!
I finished
I enjoyed them all. First & Then got 3.5 stars from me. I liked her newest book, Foolish Hearts a lot better. This was her first book and the writing was a bit rough. But I eventually got into it. The characters were awesome, and it had a good ending.
The other 3 books all got 4 stars. Really fun reads!

I started listening to David's

I'm almost finished with
and sh*t has hit the fan all over the "bloodydamn" place! I'm worried about how this will end. Yikes!

Good to know about Batman, Jenny! And I read Nyxia as an eARC last year and absolutely loved it! Enjoy!

Ditto what Karen said, though I didn't get Nyxia as an ARC... I brought it after seeing how much Karen had loved it, and ended up glad I did. :)

I know Fatemarked has to be awesome in audio. I mean, it's awesome as an eBook, after all.

Nothing wrong with that. Hope it's helping to warm you up.

Seems like "everyone" reads seasonaly, I normally just read books when I want to read them,no matter the time of year.

I sometimes like to read seasonally, but I won't dismiss a book because it's the wrong season. I've done Christmas in July reads before now, for example.
Another readathon for me this weekend! I have a pretty ambitious TBR planned!
I need to get halfway through The Cruel Prince for a book club by Monday. The others I just want to get read as much as I can!

My reading weekend was pretty good! Not as great as last weekend, but I had more going on!
I finished
and
gave both 4 stars. Both enjoyable reads!
I'm halfway through

Also just a little way into
which is okay so far.

You had some great reads this month!
I'm really interested what I'll think of
when I get to it. When we went to the last book event in Tucson, Karen my mom and attended an event by this lady (can't remember her name) who had written a book about Harper Lee. She actually lived next door to her and her sister for 18 months a few years ago. It was SO INTERESTING.
One important thing to note is that GSaW is NOT a sequel to TKaM, which is what a lot of people seem to think, and I think what the publishers are trying to get people to believe. That is was the "found" manuscript of her writing a sequel. It was actually her first attempt at her first book. She wrote GSaW before TKaM. Her editor didn't like the story that much and thought a lot of the same kind of things you thought, Victoria. So Harper scrapped that manuscript and reworked it until she came up with the concept for TKaM, and the rest is history.
A lot of die hard fans thinks this manuscript of GSaW should never have been published. I myself kind of agree, but being how much I love Harper Lee, I'm going to read it! My expectations will be low, however, since I know its a rejected manuscript.
I also can't wait to get my hands on Unearthed and Artemis!

That's really interesting, Jenny. Thanks for sharing all that information. It makes sense that To Kill A Mockingbird was a lot better now that I know that.
Hope you enjoy Artemis and Unearthed when you come to read those.

Glad it's not just me who felt that way about Lord Of The Flies.

I bet the beta read from David is turning out to be a great read... I always look forward to David's books!

The Cruel Prince was really good. I really enjoyed all the politics and the twists that came out near the end. The characters are pretty much all despicable in some way or other, even the MC, but you kind of end of loving her anyways.

Started
and I'm pretty hooked. The flashbacks this girl is having are HEARTBREAKING. I really am hoping for a good ending with this one, the main romantic relationship is not a typical one by any means.

Sorry, I haven't been around for SO LONG. Life, well, you all know how it is. BUSY. But good. Very good. Anyway, I skimmed through all the comments I missed, seems like you all have been getting in some awesome reading time. I loved Thunderhead, as I mentioned in my reply to Melissa's post. I started reading Sufficiently Advanced Magic and it is REALLY cool. But now I have to take a break to read my new library book, Oathbringer by Brandon Sanderson. This is my favorite series EVER.

Oda, Matt Haig was at my local bookstore two nights ago and I freaking missed seeing that he was going to be there. 😤 I’ve been wanting to read that book and would have loved to get a signed copy. The bookstore is less than 2 miles from my house. Dang!
