So I finished the Shadow Falls series (finally!) There is a sister series that I haven't read, but feeling accomplished since I started this series awhile ago!

I read the 2 short stories: Turned at Dark (Shadow Falls, #0.5) by C.C. Hunter Saved at Sunrise (Shadow Falls, #4.5) by C.C. Hunter which were both about Della. Since the new series is about her, these made me more excited for it!
Also read the final book Chosen at Nightfall (Shadow Falls, #5) by C.C. Hunter 4 stars, but only because I adored the ending.
Thoughts on the series in general: Its fun YA Paranormal, but it did get a bit long and I felt the plot was way drawn out in each book. I liked the characters and the general premise, and that there were actual adults around disciplining the kids when it was needed (something badly missing from YA) but in a caring, loving way. The parental units in this series (that, ironically, were no one's parents) was honestly my favorite thing about the series. It did get big on teen drama, but ah well. I did really like the ending to the series, it tied things up nicely, but left some room for imagination. I'd say a 3.5-4 star series overall.

I also finished Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them The Illustrated Edition by Newt Scamander and this had such beautiful illustrations! Well worth the read.

I've started The Hundredth Queen (The Hundredth Queen, #1) by Emily R. King which I've been wanting to read for awhile. I like it so far, really interesting premise, although anything with girls as wife/slaves gives me an icky feeling. I love the MC, though, and the world, so hanging in there. I've very interested to see what the author will do with this premise.

Also started Armada by Ernest Cline which I've been wanting to read for SO LONG. So far, loving it!

Also started this amazing book Karen gave me The Best Place to Be Today 365 Things to Do & the Perfect Day to Do Them by Lonely Planet Which shows you fun adventures to do every day of the year. It goes through them in calendar order, so I'm reading each day of the year. Or that's the plan, anyways. So, it will take me all year to read it LOL!
Jan 1st--Go to the Junkaroo Festival/Parade in Nassau, Bahamas (in case you were wondering)

And I will be starting Foolish Hearts by Emma Mills to read with my OwlCrate book club.

Whew, a lot of books to start the New Year with!

Just finished Armada by Ernest Cline , solid 4 star read! This novel definitely made a statement about war and humanity. I really loved the message to it. I also liked that the MC questioned EVERYTHING (what we all should be doing) and made up his own mind after he got all the facts. And I loved how it ended--with not everything clear cut and a little bit of gray.

Also finished The Hundredth Queen (The Hundredth Queen, #1) by Emily R. King and I ended up liking it quite a bit. Some of it was way too predictable (the romance) but I loved the message and the world building, and the characters were nicely developed. So I ended up with a 4 star rating on it, mainly because I thought the ending was good, and the author was willing to make some tough choices that really served in the interest of the story.

I'm still reading Foolish Hearts by Emma Mills , about halfway through, and oh my goodness! This book is SO CUTE!

Also going to be starting The Glass Arrow by Kristen Simmons

I finished Foolish Hearts by Emma Mills 4 stars. Loved this book, so cute! Loved the characters.

Also finished The Glass Arrow by Kristen Simmons and I LOVED this read, 5 stars! I could not put it down. So many great things about this dystopian! And I get to meet the author in March :)

Started Leia, Princess of Alderaan (Star Wars) by Claudia Gray and I'm really liking it so far. I'm also seeing the new Star Wars movie Wednesday night, so perfect timing!

Also going to be rereading The Magician (The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel, #2) by Michael Scott Trying to finish this series this year! And its been so long, I think I need to reread them.

I found Anne Frank Remembered The Story of the Woman Who Helped to Hide the Frank Family by Miep Gies in my workplace library, I've been reading it on my breaks. Good so far!

I have read all The Mists of Avalon books a gazillion times. 😉 I started gathering them up on audio and listen to them when I want a soothing voice and a story I know inside and out. I've been working on Lady of Avalon (Avalon, #3) by Marion Zimmer Bradley lately.
