Emilie | 35 comments I'm reading the country saga (I start on ice country as soon as I'm done with this post). I totally enjoyed fire country and I hope ice country will be as full of surprises and answers. After that, the Earth dwellers is waiting patientally... And after that a lot of others to keep me waiting for the book2 of Carve the Mark by Roth. Did someone liked this one too ?
(How do you guys place the pictures of the books in your posts ? I found it very convenient for me to click on them to add to my "want to read" list when I read your comments...)

I LOVED Ice Country! Don't forget to read Water & Storm Country (The Country Saga, #3) by David Estes , the 3rd book in the series, before The Earth Dwellers :)

Emilie, to put pictures of books in your comments, you have to be on the desktop version of Goodreads. The app doesn't let you add the covers of the books.

On the desktop version, on the right side, right above the comment box, there should be a green "add book/author". It pulls up a box and you type in the book and then"search" button, and then hit the "add" button next to the book you want. Also be sure to pick the "cover" button at the bottom. Hope that makes sense. :)

Thanks ! I think I got it, look : Ice Country (The Country Saga, #2) by David Estes

I liked Fire Country a lot, but I'm really enjoying Ice country for the moment, I like it being told by a boy and all the humourous phrases and sarcasm going with. But I understand your feelings for Perry, I liked it's matter-of-factly tone poping up from times to times ! I can't wait to read the extra "perry interview" going with the country saga box set I bought on kindle...

Emilie | 35 comments I'm just starting on Angel Evolution and it sounds great so far. I like it to start right into things without long atmoshpere-setting digressions. Usually I like books to be written with the "I" instead of "he" or "she", but I guess I just need a little gettinf used to after spending times with the dwellers/countries series... Did you like this series too ?

I really enjoyed the Angel Evolution series. The first book was a little rough in writing style, as it was David's first attempt, but he really improved with each book!

Emilie | 35 comments Jenny wrote: "Emilie wrote: "I'm just starting on Angel Evolution and it sounds great so far. I like it to start right into things without long atmoshpere-setting digressions. Usually I like book..."

Good ! I'm already halfway through it and I like it ! The writing style is ok for me : as I'm not a born english-speaking I don't have a lifetime experience of different styles/vocabulary/slang etc... so I can dive in almost everything I read easily and find myself at home with the way it's written (even with Blood Red Road which was pretty perplexing at first) But I understand what you mean because if I read a French book with a writing style I don't like or vocabulary that don't fit my own way of speaking and thinking, usually I can't get to the end. I think it's a question of being used to a language, and I feel more versatile whe it comes to English, as my references are scarcer than with French.

Yeah, avoid it! I normally enjoy zombie books, but it was only my determination to finish what I started that kept me reading. Honestly, if I wasn't the type of person who it bothers when I don't finish a book or series, I wouldn't have made it. As it was I practically did a happy dance when I was done!

I'm currently reading The Water Knife by Paolo Bacigalupi on audio but thinking of switching to the print copy.

Also finishing up my reread binge of Anne McCaffrey's Talent series. I'm on book 8 I think The Tower and the Hive (The Tower and the Hive, #5) by Anne McCaffrey . I needed some nice quick reads to get myself caught up on my Goodreads challenge after reading so many giant books last month. ;)

And then I get to jump into the last of David's Lifemarked (The Fatemarked Epic, #5) by David Estes which releases on Tuesday!! I'm reading the Future of the Four Kingdoms Epilogues at the end of Lifemarked. OhMY, you guys will not believe how incredible the finale of The Fatemarked Epic is!! WOW!!!

I totally agree, I haven't read one so far but I'll start binge reading them when I'm done with The Young Elites I plan to start tonight. I guess I need a break on David's books to totally enjoy the next ones. I've just finished the evolution saga, I enjoyed it though it wasn't my favorite of david's work, it was really creative ! But I guess I was still too much into the dweller/country saga universe and writing style to fully appreciate it.
