This is kinda cool and I just had to share with y'all. As some of you might know, I've had a small fan base for my children's books in South Dakota for a while. They even include them as part of their curriculum. Anyway, long story short, I went there for a week to meet all the students and faculty and parents. It was AWESOME. But there's more to the story, and Microsoft did an awesome video about it. Here's the link:

Now I am reading a boxed set FINAL DAWN Final Dawn Box Set The Final Dawn Omnibus - Seasons 1-3 by Mike Kraus so we shall see how it goes. So far the writing is much better.

Evolution is not a bad story, it was just told very oddly. Maybe too simply, telling things it didn't need to, sometimes twice in one paragraph in a different way. Final Dawn skips around between characters, which is okay, I assume they will all meet up eventually. Another EMP story. Sigh. I think I will read Fatemarked. Is that series finished yet?

message 2484: by Catherine (new)

Catherine Bruno | 771 comments Just started Caraval yesterday. I got about half-way through Before I Fall before I stopped because I was just getting frustrated by the character and the repetition. Hopefully Caraval turns into a good read (no pun intended).

Okay I finished Strange the Dreamer (Strange the Dreamer, #1) by Laini Taylor and I ADORED it--I liked it better than Daughter of Smoke and Bone, but not more than Dreams of Gods and Monsters (adored that book so much!) Its the first in a series though, and I have high hopes for the rest of it! Beautiful, quotable writing! A few favorites (I have so many page flags marking quotes its unreal!)

"Horizons instead of books. Riding instead of reading. It was a different life out here, but make no mistake: Lazlo was every bit the dreamer he always had been, if not more. He might have left his books behind, but he carried all his stories with him, out of the glave-lit nooks of the library and into landscapes far more fit for them."

"
Vengeance. Sarai heard the way he said it, and she understood something. Vengeance ought to be spoken through gritted teeth, spittle flying, the cords of one's soul so entangled in it that you can't let go, even if you try."

"Lazlo's mind was afire with marvel, the lit match touching off fuse after fuse. Burning lines raced through his consciousness, connecting far-flung dots and filling in blanks, erasing question marks and adding a dozen more for every one erased. A dozen dozen. There could be no end to the questions, but the sketch outlines of answers were beginning to appear, and they were astonishing."

Also, I've moved up the release date for Fatemarked Origins Vol. III, it will now be available on Kindle on April 20th.

I actually read the ending cause I couldn't handle it anymore and I was so confused and kind of upset so I decided not finish it. The plot also annoyed me and Sam just made me angry.
