I had to switch back over to another library book that became available, so now I am reading the new John Grisham book,

Ha! I do that too.
I used to read all of Grisham's novels, but got burnt out a few years ago. Probably about the time I discovered YA!! ;)

I love this series. I'm glad you finished and enjoyed them.
Love Rick Riordan's work! Have read all of the Percy Jackson and Heroes of Olympus. Still need to read the Egyptian one, the Norse one and Apollo.

The Egyptian one (The Kane Chronicles) is actually my favorite :)

I never actually got around to reading the third Kane Chronicles book! I don't know why, since I'm usually so up-to-date on his books. :P And at this point I feel like I should probably re-read the first two books, it's been so long since I read them.
I'm finally reading Heartless!Slower reading speed (caused by less reading time due to other commitments) combined with being asked to review books for a couple of authors I've reviewed for in the past, all combined to mean I started reading it about a week later than I'd planned, and haven't finished it yet. I'm loving it so far though.

I did for a while, too, but then got back into them and caught up. His more recent stuff isn't nearly as good as the Grisham classics (the Firm, the Client, the Pelican Brief, and my person favorite The Street Lawyer), but I still enjoy them :)

Still reading Heartless, but I checked out some books from the library so right now I'm reading I Am the Medsenger too.
I'm listening to
and I'm about 30% of the way through so far - loving it! I'm also just starting in on
- so excited for it!!
I reread
even though I didn't like it much the first time around.I liked it more the second time, but I DNF the sequel at about 20 pages. I loved her Legend series but am put off by her writing style in this one. :(

I completely agree. I was a huge fan of Legend, it was one of the first of the new wave of YA dystopian novels I read. I'm glad I DNF'd the first book early on. I have little patience these days. If a book doesn't grab me pretty early on, I move on!

I agree about the writing technique cause I felt it was a little detached.

I used to read every book I picked up, all the way through, but now that's just ridiculous.
It's been hard recently, though, cuz I've put so many down. I feel like a grumpy person.
But then I'll read a string of awesome books and feel okay again.

Started Scythe tonight. Not sure if I'm going to be smart and put it aside sometime for sleep tonight. Or if I'll pull an all-nighter....So excited!

I had to force myself to put it down each night. I put in very long work days and knew I needed sleep this last week. If I was smart, I would have held off until the weekend so I could have read it in a couple of sittings. But, it was soooooo good! I couldn't help myself. It was my reward each night! ;)

I am not reading lately. December15, Thursday, my 18 year old grandson was killed in a car accident with his friend Jude. They had left high school and Jude was driving them in the pouring rain to work at the Nest delivering furniture. Joe's grandfather owned the store. The car hydroplanes head on into incoming traffic and they were both killed instantly at 1:15 pm on Thursday.
He was a talented athlete and artist, a great kid who was so caring and funny.
We are devastated and miss him terribly. It has been almost unbelievable but the small community and large family have been so supportive.
Oh Donna, I'm so so so sorry to hear this :( What a terrible tragedy, but I'm glad you've had family and friends rallying around you. I'm so sorry for your loss. I'll keep your family in my thoughts and prayers.

I actually prefer The Young Elites series to the Legend series -the audiobook production is amazing! :)

I'm so sorry to hear that. Deepest condolences.
I was reading Lady of Midnight from Cassandra Clare and now will begin Prince of Thorns from Lawrence.
I'm so sorry for your loss Donna. Such a tragedy, and so heartbreaking. I'm so glad you have family and community coming together and being so supportive!!

Of course, Rick Riordan's books-=always good! This one really amped up the stakes for the last book! Colleen Hoover--I like her books quite a bit, this one was one of my favorites. A heartbreaking story about family and domestic abuse. She actually based a lot of this story on her parents relationship when she was young. Wild was way better than I thought it would be, a real page turner! The Paris Wife was very good, although very sad. I seem to keep picking sad books lately LOL! But I liked learning more about Ernest Hemingway, even if it made him look pretty despicable. Untamed was an intense quick read, but definitely needed more character development.
Right now I'm reading
(some light Christmas Romances) and
which I'm loving!

OMG I am so sorry. I am devastated when young lives are taken from us. I cannot even begin to imagine your pain. My deepest condolences.
I loaned my Kindle to my mom two months ago and after finally getting it back a few days ago I binge read
(technically I started this on our trip before my mom borrowed my Kindle on the flight home because she'd finished her book already),
and
. Now I'm taking a little break with the Heroes of Olympus series because I loved the last book and it seemed like a good place to stop with that ending.I'm 20 pages into
right now and really enjoying it thus far.
