So. Everyone here was correct. The Monstrumologist was awesome! Jumping right into book two because I immediately wanted more after closing book one.
Haven't updated in a while! I finished my reread of
, LOVED it! Also finished
and really loved that one too! Finished
and it was an okay read for me.
I've been reading
and I think I'm in a book slump. Its taking me awhile, not sure why. Maybe I'm burned out on fantasy (which isn't good, because I have lots of fantasy on my TBR!) I may switch to something else for a bit, don't know what.

YAY! I'm so glad you liked it :)

Almost done with The Young Elites and then I'm going to finish my re-read of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. I'm also still plugging through Strings. I'm almost half-way done with it.

GREAT BOOK! Can't wait to discuss with all of you :) :) :)
I'm still working on Empire of Storms. I'm enjoying it, although it's pretty slow moving. But a good part is coming up, so I'm hoping to get some reading time today!

Can anyone tell me if they think it's best to read the Grisha trilogy before reading the Six of Crows duology? Or do you feel it does not matter? I'm trying to decide where it's best to start.
Finally finished Crooked Kingdom yesterday. Haha! Started on Magnus Chase- The Hammer of Thor today :)

It does not matter at all, Donna. I read the first Grisha book, wasn't a fan and didn't continue with the series. Then I read Six of Crows and loved it. Totally different characters set in the same world :) :) :) ENJOY!

No, Donna you won't. There are a few characters that pop up in Crooked Kingdom that are from the grisha trilogy, but it won't affect your understanding or enjoyment!
And I agree with David. I know several people who liked the grisha but it wasn't for me.....Six of Crows, however, blew my mind. As did the sequel.
Thank you David and Elora!! I will start with Six of Crows then. From all I'm hearing about this duology, I know I will love it!!! :) I was worried I'd be lost if I hadn't read the Grisha trilogy, but I'm happy to hear that's not the case!! :)

Finished The Young Elites, didn't like it as much as the Legend series but it was okay. Re-reading The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe and Where the Red Fern Grows.

Rham, I really liked The Fever Code! It was better than books 2, 3 and 4 for me. My favorite is still The Maze Runner, but TFC is a close 2nd.
I started
. It seems like a perfect Halloween weekend read! Plus it's the J book for my A -Z challenge. ;) Thanks for the recommendation, Nancy!

Just started reading Serafina and the Black Cloak. Also reading Where the Red Fern Grows cause I'm teaching it. If you haven't seen the nominees for Goodreads Choice Awards or haven't voted yet, you're going to have a tough time voting for Young Adult Fantasy. Crooked Kingdom, The Crown, Empire of Storms, and A Court of Mist and Fury are all nominated.

Right? So cool and unique! Loved that aspect too :) :)

Finished Empire of Storms! I loved a lot of things about it, other things not so much. Overall, an enjoyable read that sets things up for the last book! (it is the last, right? Please say yes LOL)
Now I'm heading back to read Half a King, which I'm partway through :)

Had a tough time getting into Illuminae when I read it because of the format, but once I got used to it I enjoyed the book!

I completely agree David. It's a really good way of setting up the finale :)

I listened to it on audiobook (full cast) - I wonder if the print version would have been better for me. I loved all the narrators for the full cast - I just never really felt like we got to know any of the main characters except for the computer of course! I didn't think it was a good sign when I connected the most with the computer program!

Oh, he was fantastic, Heidi! I think the format added to the thrill of the book more than anything else. It was like being a kid again and experiencing something for the first time. Who writes books where the words float across the page and you have to turn it upside down in places???
I connected with him the most, too. But for me it was startling and cool--the artificial intelligence had more of a personality than the actual humans did. It was unsettling and added to the eeriness of the novel, but I can see how that would be a turn off.
Have you had a chance to peruse the novel in print?

No I haven't checked out the print version. Sounds interesting but I am reading so slow lately I am not sure if I will get to it.
Finished
and oh myyyyy.... Probably one of the saddest books I've ever read. But sooooooo good!
I'm back into my sci-fi phase and started

HEIDI: tried the audio version of Illuminae as well, but preferred the hard copy version. Love seeing all the different 'formats' used.
