Finished The Winner's Curse and was surprised at how much I liked it. There were some flaws, but it was good. Currently reading The Crown and I'll be giving An Ember in the Ashes another shot.

The Monstrumologist series is much darker than Jackaby, but its deliciously creepy and good! Loved it!

AHHH I LOVE THE MONSTRUMOLOGIST. <3 Actually I read Jackaby because I thought it sounded similar to The Monstrumologist, and then I was kinda disappointed that it wasn't as scary, lol. :P

I just finished my reread of Unbound so I'm looking forward to rereading the rest... Especially Unwind since well it is my favorite book of all time. I've reread it hundreds of times since I was a teenager and it just gets better and better as I got older. (Now I just need to get a new copy... My paperback is dust ridden and old and I'm nervous looking into getting a new hardback. I want the old cover art, not the new stuff)


And oh yeah we're all nuts for The Monstrumologist. It took me awhile but it was worth the read. So vivid and descriptive.

I've been reading today. It's sooooo good and really emotional! Definitely a crazy ride!

I think I'll be starting after this one. I'm seeing a lot of hype about it from the booktubers I follow.

Also still listening to . It's very long (22 hours) and even sped up, it's taking a long time to get through. But it is good! I'm enjoying it more than I thought I would! :)

I read the first one the week before Halloween, and it legitimately scared me!!

Finished YOWZA, only took me a week! (That's a long time for me!) This series is only a duology, so I think she actually squeezed 2 books into this last book. It was over 500 pages, and a very dense read. But, I did like it! Lots was happening! I wished I'd liked this series as much as "Incarnate", but it was still a fun fantasy for me!

Also finished which I really liked, I think my fave of the series yet! I did see the twist coming, though. I'm hoping to finally finish up this series soon!

The Monstrumologist is SO GOOD!!!! Enjoy! And I still like Jackaby, for different reasons, but I would definitely rate The Monstrumologist way higher :)

What is keeping my interest is the How is this the same author as the 5th wave? I liked that series, but I'm loving this one. This book is unbelievable! :)

Agreed on Jackaby vs Monstrumologist! Jackaby is more of a "supernatural Sherlock Holmes" type of story. Its more mystery than horror. I would classify the Monstrumologist as horror!

I know, right?? I read The Monstrumologist books first and they totally blew me away––so I had extremely high hopes for The 5th Wave and then I was pretty disappointed. It does not feel like the same author at all!

Brigid I think you started this whole Monstrumoligist thing in the first place way before the 5th Wave. You raved about it so I read it then I raved about it so David and Jenny and the gang read it and loved it and the love spread on and on. I think the author owes you royalties :) I remember I kept telling David to read it even though he didn't like the 5th Wave because IMO it is so much better - I'm so glad he did because he has encouraged others to read it too :)

Fun series! I've read the first book on audio but haven't gotten to the rest of them yet. LOVE Oberon!

I see the author ALL THE TIME in Phoenix. He lives here and is at every book event I've gone to. I was chatting with him last month and although I didn't have any new books for him to sign (I got the books I have all signed a few years ago), he still gave me a newer signed bookmark. He's VERY funny! The books take place very near to where I live.
