I started
last night. I'm getting ready to start the third story. I liked the first one and REALLY liked the second one!

Glad you enjoyed The Martian, Jenny!

Brigid, I think you would LOVE the Martian. Full of fun humor that I know you'd love! I must admit, I did skim some of the "science" when he was detailing things like chemistry and such. LOL! But I didn't do a lot of it, most of it was actually interesting. The author's a smart guy!

Ditto on what everyone else said. I pretty quickly got used to the style and didn't even think about it any longer once I got so invested in the story. :)

Thanks for letting me know Jenny! :D It does sound like something I would like, and I think I will give it a try sometime this summer.
Yay, Donna!!! Hope you love The Dream Thieves! That one is super amazing. :D (But of course, they all are, haha.)

"Awesome! She's such an amazing author, isn't she? The Dream Thieves is my favorite book! FYI the book is WAY more confusing than the first one and usually isn't fully appreciated until the second or third reading. :)
David wrote: "Don't stop TKONLG! Trust us, once you get used to the way it's written, you'll love it. One of the most creative/best series ever IMO"LOL! I'm going to finish it at some point. But with the semester ending, I need a book that's not so frustrating to read.
Thanks, Elora, I'm glad to know that now. That way I won't give up. I loved the first one, she is an amazing author!

I thought The Scorpio Races was great, but am actually enjoying the Raven Cycle books more.Speaking of which... I've finished The Dream Thieves, discovered and read both 300 Fox Way Holiday Piece and A Minor Raven Boys Holiday Drabble, and started reading Blue Lily, Lily Blue.

Me too Victoria :) The Raven Boys books are just incredible!

So...Across the Universe didn't work for me either. I got about 100 pages in and couldn't take it anymore. Good concept, poor execution. Now reading When We Collided and I love it already!

ME TOO! The Scorpio Races...gah! That ENDING. So many feels. Love that book :)

Finished
and loved it! No wonder it was so popular :) I think I may skip the sequels though as their ratings get progressively worse. Has anyone read any of the sequels?

I second Dream Thieves being my favorite. I haven't read Raven King yet, though. Have you gone to her Tumblr? I never go on Tumblr and I still visit hers time to time. Lots of cool stuff and she's pretty interactive with fans.
Yes, her Tumblr is great! Love her Twitter too. :D And I love that she converses so much with her fans.
I finished the Shattered Sea trilogy by Joe Abercrombie. I greatly enjoyed all three books. He really builds upon each one, mostly by shifting the main characters of each book to see different perspectives on the world he created and the characters he's already introduced. And it worked so well. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good fantasy novel :) I will definitely read them again. Now starting in on The Crown's Game by Evelyn Skye. It has a good variety of reviews so I'm interested to see where I'll fall with this one.
@Caitlin That's good to hear about the Shattered Sea trilogy. I bought the first two a few months back and have been waiting until I get in the mood to read them :)
I started
on audio,
and
.
ACOTAR is slow going. It's been ok, but I haven't ever been at a point where I couldn't put it down. I actually keep putting it down. :(

I was not as in love with ACOTAR as a lot of others out there. It had an insta love element which I am not a fan of and it was slow moving. I gave it 3 stars because it was well written - just not my type of book.
ACOTAR is very romance heavy. I adored it myself, but more for the world building and fantasy elements. The ending was FANTASTIC!!!
For me, it started off great, I was really really into it until about halfway (where the romance starts becoming heavy), then about the last third was AMAZEBALLS! I haven't read the sequel yet, but I hear from everyone that it is even better than the first, so I'm excited!

I don't think its classified as YA. Its definitely not, you're right! Besides the romance, it just has more of an adult feel anyways. It actually reminded me a lot of a Gregory Maguire book. Maybe why I loved it so much!

Pretty sure sjm herself classifies it as na.

Huh.
Well, thats obvious wrong.
On the same note my library has half of the princess diaries in the childrens section and half in the ya section. pretty strange.

@Harlee - it's such a good trilogy! It's not loud in the way of some trilogies and fantasies but in its subtlety it's very strong and interesting and so well written. And surprisingly funny at times. I hope you enjoy it!
I liked ACOMAF so much more than ACOTAR but I did enjoy both (even though I'm not much of a fan of Feyre). But I think both the cast and the storyline of ACOMAF helped make it stronger.
Over the last few days I have finished
(also LOVED--and watched the movie, loved it too!)
I finished
on audio and it was just okay for me. I actually LOVED Poppy's voice the best, and even though she was super mean, she was the most honest of the three. The end of the mystery was a bit of a let down. The ending kind of disappointed me.
Also finished
which was also just an okay read.
Almost finished with
which I have kind of gotten into. Its a quick read. I'm readying myself for the inevitable tears everyone says I will cry at the end!
I'm going to be starting
in ebook,
and
in audio soon. Maggi Myers is one of the authors I met at the North Iowa Book Bash and this book looks good. It was on KU, which means I also get the audio for free to listen to, narrated by Kate Rudd! So I'm excited

I'd have read them even faster, but I only managed to get copies of most of them last week, and then I had a busy week, followed by a book release on the weekend, so it slowed me up a bit, and meant I had to keep putting them down to do other things (which was really frustrating at times).
I finished The Crown's Game by Evelyn Skye and it didn't really work for me, unfortunately. It's one of those that I think plenty of people will really like but it was similar to books I love and it wasn't strong enough to stand up to them for me. I'm going to start Tell the Wind and Fire by Sarah Rees Brennan. I know it's a sort of retelling of Tale of Two Cities, which I have never read, So!, I'm curious to see how I feel about it compared to people who like the original.
