What drew me, personally, to this text was the comments that reinforced it's comic validity. The funniest/discouraging comment I saw that helped me make my final decision was on the Running With Scissors book review, "I learned, along with the rest of my reading group, that running with scissors is preferable to reading this book." Overall, the page-length and peer discussion had little effect. It was my personal interest in Jim Gaffigan's comedy career and the intuitive customer reviews that got my attention. The mood the author leaves on those who have finished the book is very important. The book is about a dad raising 5 kids, a comedian no less. I'm interested to see his comments on today's youth culture.
