Breeze landed on a small ledge. She longed to be closer to the Kingdom but knew what the consequences would be. Queen Amber let her escape once, surely the queen wouldn't let it happen again. She sighed, tinkering with her bracelet
Breeze froze as she caught a flash of yellow scales. She tilted her head, Yellow scales? At first, she assumed it was a Skywing patrol, yet the scales were yellow. God, is it the Sandwing Queen? news had traveled fast about how Skywings had gotten the Sandwings. It was a huge advantage towards the Skywings
Breeze slowly approached Lightning, relaxing when she realized who it was. "Oh, hi Lightning" she murmured
Breeze didn't know why but she often acted shy around him. It caused her to ponder what made her act like this. Surely it was just because Olympus and Lightning were rivals. "I thought Sandwings didn't like the cold" she smiled, pondering why she was blushing
Breeze pretended to look offended, "Is a dragonet not allowed to get some time off work?" She swayed her tail. By work, she meant being around Olympus. She considered it her work because her job used to be to protect him. Phoenix screwed it all up she couldn't help but frown.
Breeze noticed his 'subtle' movements toward her. She blushed, but quickly tried to cover it up. She stared at the sky, "The palace was amazing" she half lied. She was the champion. The killer. The monster. Breeze had everything, even if Amber forced her to be in the breeding program later with a different Skywing, life was still perfect. A small tear fell from the young dragons face, hitting the ground with a soft 'swish'. Her parents were dead. Phoenix wanted Olympus. Breeze had freed a deadly prisoner
Breeze was always the fierce type, the dragonet who couldn't be defeated. How could one mistake ruin her entire title and life? She wrapped her wings around Lightning, more tears sliding down her cheek. Be strong! You're not allowed to cry in front of him! You're Breeze the Champion she thought fiercely, though she felt weak
Breeze pulled back a bit, embarrassment gnawing at her. "Um, sorry" she forced a small smile. "I really shouldn't be crying" she whispered, clutching her bracelet
"It is calm" Breeze admitted with a smile. "Lightning, you're so lucky that you aren't under Ambers influence" she closed her eyes
Breeze had frozen in place when she felt his tail twin with hers. "I-I-It's okay" she couldn't believe she was stuttering as well. Did Lightning have feelings for her? Could she have a hybrid dragonet? She sadly neglected the idea. Lightning is after Phoenix after all
Me:That was harsh, Amber!Amber:*shrug*))
Breeze glanced sideways, almost as if she was hoping for someone or something to disrupt them. She longed to be alongside Olympus, feeling his warm scales. Even though he had no fire, he was fierce, confident, and kind.
I'm loyal to Amber Breeze reminded herself fiercely. No hybrid dragonets would be allowed in the kingdom. Where would she go other than the Skywing Kingdom. The Sandwing Kingdom often was dangerous
Breeze wanted to inch away from Lightning but a force refused to let her. Just get up and leave! her mind screamed in panic, but she couldn't find herself to do it.
Breeze tilted her head, "It's nice to catch up" the awkwardness made her feel strange. Just fly off she yelled inside her mind but remained where she was
"Cheesy beyond belief" Breeze replied, hoping she could get out of this situation. Trying to change the subject, she murmured, "I wonder where everyone is"
"Yep, you're Phoenixs' cheese" Breeze replied with a sly and playful voice. "The war hasn't even really even begun. No battles yet.."
Breeze tucked her wings back, though she was ready to fly. "It's just that, Phoenix loves you..." She partially knew she loved him but wasn't sure if it was entirely true. "I just don't like you the way you want me to"
"Lightning" Breeze glanced sideways, had she created an enemy? Surely Lightning wouldn't forget that moment. She was quick to react, springing up and grasping his talons gently so they covered in the air
"Please stay" Breeze's voice was a small whisper, despair gnawing at her voice. She didn't want another enemy, and she didn't want to hurt Lightning
Breeze couldn't do anything but stare in shock. What had happened? That laughing, it sent shivers down her spine. She opened her mouth but no words came out. "LIGHTNING!" She finally shrieked, darting after him
Breeze took a small step back without realizing it. Horror was still in her eyes, though she had calmed down a bit. "A-are you okay?"
Breeze took another step back, "I-I" the voice sent chills down her spine. She already witnessed 5 deaths, and was only 6. Her time couldn't be up. "S-s-stay away" she was running battle tactics through her mind
Breeze's eyes softened, "Lightning, this isn't you! Dont think this is right, revenge isn't key" she murmured in the most calming voice she could muster
Breeze dodged to the side, allowing only one of his talons to barely scratch her chest. She shook her head, "I refuse to do this" she growled, standing guard. She'd fend for herself as long as possible
"I've killed enough dragons" Breeze replied, dragons flashing through her mind. Many Icewings. Many Nightwings. Some Skywings. Witnessed death. Her mothers. Her fathers. "Lightning, just relax" her muscles her tensed, almost waiting for his tail to come down on her. Tears slid down her cheek. She rolled, knocking the Sandwing off his talons. Breeze made sure to dodge his tail quickly
When Lightning released her, Breeze stumbled, her talons holding her throat gently as she wheezed. She curled up, lost in thought of how she almost died. The young Skywing quickly realized Lightning was in a puddle of blood. Breeze tried her best to hurry to him, though tried to regulate her breathing. "Lightning! Lightning, don't leave me. You'll be okay" she whispered
Breeze wrapped her wings around Lightning in a hug. "You aren't allowed to die" she murmured, blinking back tears. "You won't die. You won't die"((the sister location references XD))
((THE REFERENCES!!!!! XD))"Three Moons, what was that? A yellow bunny?" Breeze teased finally catching her breath. She hadn't pulled back from the hug.
Breeze pulled away a bit, "I believe the term is purple" she made a half forced smile. She searched for any wounds. Thankfully, the coughed up blood ever powered the actual wound blood.
Breeze helped sit him up properly. The Skywing Palace was the only Kingdom near. She would not be welcome there... The small dragonet felt helpless. She could barely even stand herself up, let alone carry a Sandwing
Breeze twined tails with him, Lightning felt like her long-lost brother. "We'll be alright" she quickly went through the inventions in her bag, finding a sling. She got out a couple leafs, "I could make a cast for you"
Breeze rolled her eyes, "What!? You think I don't have anything for pain! Who do you think I am, you?" She teased, getting out something that looked like a cactus seed without the spikes. She cracked it open, gently sliding the glazed slime over his wings and gently over his forearm. She used the lead to create a cast and slip it on Lightning. Breeze helped him out on the sling
Sadness jolted inside of her as he mentioned the Icewings, and looked as if someone had struck her across the face. Breeze was only on the Icewing side because it would save Olympus. She recovered quickly, "Champion isn't the best part of life" she murmured, remembering her great times with him
Breeze nodded tilting her head so it leaned lightly on his shoulder. She refused to show her fear of him. That strange laugh before he attacked her... It came from a disembodied voice
"Of course it wasn't you" Breeze focused on going through her pack again. She pulled out a small bracelet, clipping it gently on both ends of the casts so it wouldn't slide off. "It makes me wonder how it was possible. Usually ghosts aren't active, honestly, I haven't even heard someone talk about it"
Breeze couldn't help but feel disappointed in how Lightning was acting. She hoped he'd just move on and not keep the hole she had put in his heart. "I'd never attack you" she murmured, giving him one last hug before sitting back down

Breeze smiled, "I'd love that" she replied happily. She could feel the sadness dripping away from her, warmth refilling the empty holes
