SOLVED. Looking for an alien romance where heroine thinks she's playing a computer game is actually directing the planets military. [s]

Heroine and best friend are on earth and the best friend tells her she's getting married and he's an alien. Think heroine doubts her at first. She goes with best buddy to the fiance's planet for the wedding and I think is seen/perhaps compromised by one of the guests. He kidnaps her and she's possibly his wife.

She's an artist on earth and she discovers a 'game room' with a computer strategy game and plays it but it's actually a control for their military . . .

It's possible I'm mixing up two different stories here!?
