How To Get Title Listed on Goodreads Best Books on . . .

My book about siblings is listed on my Goodreads page, as well as my other titles. When I google, say, books about brothers and sisters, my title comes up often on the first page but not in the Best Books About Siblings on Goodreads.

Can anyone tell me how those lists are compiled?

I think someone comes up with an idea for a list, and then various people vote for books on it. The more votes a book gets, the higher it is on the list, and the most popular lists are the ones with the most books/votes/activity (I think) :)

It's called Listopia and they're meant to be lists organically started by enthusiastic readers to share an interest with the community and invite them to vote/participate. In the past, authors have spammed lists by using voting circles or adding their own books. This ticks off readers. Recently, Goodreads removed the ability for authors to vote their own books onto lists.

All you can do is write a great book and maybe a reader will be inspired to find or create a Listopia that suits it! : )

You may wish to consider establishing an Author Profile in place of the reader profile currently posted . You will then be formally recognized as a Goodreads author. This may or may not increase awareness of your work, but it certainly could not hurt.

I must be wonky because of the Mexican climate. But, as you suggested, I need to establish an Author Profile, not a reader profile. When I follow the steps, I come to my profile page, don't see the words Author Profile and have not a clue what I'm to do from there.
Any help would be appreciated.

Have you gone to your book's page and claimed it? That's how I got my author profile.

Scroll down to the bottom of the page. There is a list of prompts. Click on "help". The Goodreads staff will describe the procedure to establish an Author Profile.

The aforementioned "help" resource can resolve that issue as well. It provides a list of the most common issues members ask about plus a space to note your specific problem, if not on the list.
