Great reviews! Thanks for providing the link. I think I'll check out the Black Prism first then. I do like grim epic fantasy so this should fit well with me. One thing I've been having an issue with lately is finding a character I can get into. Hopefully these will be different.

I actually ended giving up on The Black Prism about 30% of the way through. The magic system was confusing and I just didn't care about any of the characters, even a little. Considering how much I loved Night Angel it was probably the most disappointed I've been by a book for a while.

Oh no! I've been on one of the worst reading streaks lately. I think I'll check them both on Amazon and see which first chapter grabs me. If neither do, I'll have to start another hunt.

I especially enjoyed The Martian! I just finished the new audio version of The Master of Whitestorm by Janny Wurts, narrated by Simon Prebble. I had read the book in 2011 and loved it but the audio version put me over the moon! It's fantastic and I upped my star rating from 4 to 5 stars. I've always loved Simon Prebble, but I've never heard him like he is narrating this book. If anyone enjoys audiobooks I highly recommend it!
