Camundongoknockout | 20 comments Girl is really mistreated by her mum and her violent stepfather. She goes on with her life but is dragged back because some criminal wants her to pay her stepfathers debts. Male protagonists is also some sort of criminal (name may be Travis, or Trevor) with ties to the police and rescues her. In the villains command is a man who is actually an undercover cop named Sam, who turns out to be the girl's father. In the end the bad guy tries to kill father and daughter and they get into a car accident, escape and are chased through the woods, with Sam carrying his daughter. Trevor or whatever finds them and beats Sam because he thinks he is hurting the girl. Part of a series.

Wildcat in Moscow by Ellen Whyte (a.k.a. Storm Chase)?

Camundongoknockout | 20 comments No, sorry. The girl was poor, and the mum and stepdad were trashy people so the debt wasn't millions, it was a smaller amount but she could'nt pay. The action took place in an English speaking country, of that I'm sure. Thank you so much for trying to help me. I'll try to keep remembering more details. It was part of a series but with HEA and no cliffhanger. I think the other books were about different secondary characters from the male protagonists family and associates that appeared in this book but this was the only one I read.

Camundongoknockout | 20 comments Oh and the hero is really sweet to her super protective and always worried about her, not a rude womanizing alpha on steroids possessive jerk like most fiction mafia guys.
