I also quite liked it. I'm not generally a Punisher fan, but he really stole the season. There was definitely an Iron Fist setup... and it directly referenced what I think is his best solo story. Two little words:
[spoilers]
Living weapon!

First the known - or should be known - which makes it not a spoiler:
- I had reservations about Jon Bernthal as the Punisher. I knew him from the "The Walking Dead" best, and he seemed a bit "small" in my mind for the roll. But wow did he step up! I do hope he gets a spin off season. Punisher reveal in the end is worth waiting for IMHO.
- Once again Marvel/Netflix did a great job linking the different shows. The subtle mention of Jessica Jones was nice, but (spoiler) (view spoiler)[The Jessica Jones mean lawyer lady Jeri Hogarth (Carrie-Anne Moss) coming in was simple awesome to me! (hide spoiler)]
- I may have missed it, but I was hoping for an Iron Fist mention or subtle link.
- The feel of the city throughout the series has been Hell's Kitchen - no question. I actually own a few hundred of the comics, so I have an idea in my head that they have done well in meeting.
- The Foot... I mean Hand (TMNT joke)... are great. The fact that they did ninja so well was cool. Though they should have sometimes recorded with sound off ;) to make them quieter.
- The costume of Daredevil has been modernized (as we saw at the end of season 1) in a way I find forgivable. It has more than enough correct elements to let it slide.
Some real spoilers follow...
(view spoiler)[- Electra was not quite right to me... the costume was a fail - but correct in colour. Her early relationship was so rushed through in the flashbacks. Her use of signature weapons was late and not used enough. I do not feel she would be able to be in a show of her own as they left it. I hate t say it - but Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner did it better.
- The deep hole - that was cool to me - I kept having this feel that Daredevil will soon be facing his big nemesis, Mephisto.
- I am really hoping that Fisk brings in Bullseye for the next season... They had Fisk growing his power significantly in the season from behind the bars. Though they had him running low on funds, he was networking brilliantly, and his use of the Punisher worked exactly as it should... in his favour.
- Fisk finally taking on the title of "King Pin" was really well done, and subtle. Taking out the old "King" of the prison and taking the mantle was sweet. This series has been doing the best reveals imho. (hide spoiler)]
I'm not good at reviews... but I am loving this TV adaptation a lot! When they made changes for the show - it was pretty easy for me to let it go. It has not been like removing Tom Bombadil from the Lord of the Rings - which was disappointing for many fans.
If you caught anything special - list it below ... and I would love to hear some more opinions on the show.
