Hey mods
As u may have noticed a poll was sent out for reading a book together...poll is not yet closed but so far the majority of people are voting yes...

So I figured we might as well start putting together a list of books to read so we can send out another poll to get a consensus...

I'm thinking to get about 10 books of varying genres...

umm and as we have a few younger members we should be probs a bit careful as to wat we read...so maybe do a quick look up on wat the book has in it and stuff so we no...

Also Mo made a request for Honour Bound by Helen Harper (so I'll have to check this book out)

Thanks in advance for ur ideas
K

message 62: by [deleted user] (new)

I like ur thoughts Anna...so we will maybe have a few choices in that department :) but idk some people I have spoken to that have dramas and problems in the real world don't necessarily enjoy reading them in books... but we can def incorporate a few :) if u have any suggestions in that area let me no :)

message 63: by [deleted user] (new)

Awesome...

I need to think of some books now lol...wow there's too many to choose from...

message 64: by [deleted user] (new)

I really like the sound of the first one :)

message 65: by [deleted user] (new)

I never heard of this and even if we dont read in a group I'm totally reading :D

message 66: by [deleted user] (last edited Apr 26, 2016 05:01PM) (new)

Okay lets start a list and i'll just edit it each time with the new book ideas :D

1. All the Light We Cannot See
2. The Martian
3. Room
4. Cruel Beauty
5. North and South

message 67: by [deleted user] (last edited Apr 26, 2016 04:05PM) (new)

what about??

Goodnight Mister Tom
When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit
Bound
Cruel Beauty (parents review says: Other mature content includes sex that's not described more than clothing being torn away, and kisses that are well described)?

message 69: by [deleted user] (new)

Thanks for the suggestions Mr J...have u read the Martian or the Girl on the train??

Is the content okay for younger readers??

message 70: by [deleted user] (new)

Im just throwing out ideas atm...but please comment on ur thoughts to help narrow down...

Perfekt Order

message 72: by Shristhi (new)

Shristhi (thebookgodess) I am pretty sure there are only curse words in the Martian, otherwise it is okay....

Thanks Jess :D

I have read a part of the martian, there is a bit of swearing, but that's it.

message 75: by [deleted user] (new)

I've added the martian to the list :)

message 76: by [deleted user] (new)

what are your thoughts on the books i listed??

message 77: by [deleted user] (new)

I've never read any of them lol

message 78: by [deleted user] (new)

Hahahaha lols thats not a bad thing lol....u dont want to be necessarily re-reading a whole heap of books....

But would u want to read any of them??

message 79: by [deleted user] (last edited Apr 26, 2016 04:54PM) (new)

Of course I want to, I've been wanting to for a while, just don't know if I can get the books, whichever one we end up reading

And that is so true about the re reading....never thought of that!

The ones that interest me the most are North and South and Cruel Beauty.

message 87: by [deleted user] (new)

I was thinking about 10....to allow for a wide range of books....bc it seems a lot of us have different tastes so want to find something that we will all enjoy :)
