When I read about it, Amazon said that 2.99 is a better price than 0.99 for authors trying to really get somewhere with their work.

Miriam, thanks. This is just a short story though. Plus, the publisher set the price on it. I did a couple of self pubbed collections on Amazon and set the price at 2.99. They had at least 24,000 words in them. They didn't sell that well at 2.99 but they haven't sold that well at .99 either, which I've done for a promotion.
