Outside the Stable!

Hathor snorted as Wren led her forward into the field. Hathor was going at a quick canter, getting her extra energy out. Wren wanted to explore and find something new, preferably something exciting.

Haley was riding Burning Charcoal through many obstacles that had been set up in the opposite side of the field.

Wren slid off her horse, patting Hathor's milky white side, and stood watching Haley. She wasn't as good a rider, she was sure of that, and she couldn't help but admire how well Haley was doing.

Haley stopped to let Charcoal rest and rubbed the lather off of his ears and around his eyes. She noticed Wren watching nearby and walked over. "Hey, I'm Haley!"

"Who are you?" Haley asked.

"I'm Wren," Wren replied. "And this is Hathor," she said, patting her horse. "You're a good rider."

"Oh, uh, thank you!" Haley smiled. "Really, I'm not that good. I've just been practicing those particular moves for a while!"

"You and your horse work very well together, you know," Wren complimented. Hathor strode over to where Charcoal was, ready to make a new friend.

At first, Burning Charcoal, backed away from Hathor, unsure of what do to. "Thanks, but as for Charcoal, he's got some social issues. He is a rescue horse, after all. His owner was caught abusing him and he was passed on to me, but he rarely gets along with anybody but me!"

"Hathor's gentle. She won't do anything," Wren said as Hathor retreated some distance away from Charcoal and began to graze. "She's very sweet," Wren added. Hathor didn't approach Charcoal again, waiting for him to come to her when he was ready.

Charcoal eyed the horse carefully and began grazing, inching forward every few seconds. "Once you get to know Burning Charcoal, he is very sweet, but with those he doesn't know, it's fight or flight!"

"I'm sure Hathor will be a good influence on him." Wren smiled and sat down in the grass, pulling out her sketchbook. Hathor looked up as Charcoal came closer, then went back to grazing peacefully.

Charcoal stopped when Hathor looked up. "Yes, I hope so! I tried putting Charcoal in a herd not long ago, only a couple months, but he spooked and broke down the fence." Haley explained. "It wasn't the best experience."

"Hathor is quite calm and friendly. She can help him," Wren told Haley with a smile. She sketched a few lines in her notebook, then looked back up. "If Charcoal is so jumpy around others, how did you tame him?" she asked.

Hathor continued grazing, pretending not to notice Charcoal. She looked quite peaceful and content.

"To tell you the truth, I didn't really. He still is half wild, but he just doesn't really show it." Haley admitted. "In fact, I'm lucky he'll take a bit or a saddle."

"I'm sure as you two get to know each other more, you'll become good friends," Wren said, not looking up from her drawing. "After all, my relationship with Hathor is based mostly off of trust."

QUEEN | 60 comments Skywalker raced around the field, acting up. He was a thoroughbred of course it as in his nature to be wild and crazy and hot tempered.

"That is something I need to work on more with Coal!" Haley looked over at her horse and sighed. "Like I said before, he doesn't really trust anyone."

message 21: by [deleted user] (new)

"Don't worry. It takes time. I'm sure you'll get to him soon," Wren said comfortingly.

You're already in another rp, right? We're in the middle of our own- it's not exactly well-mannered to butt in.

Wren grinned and waved. "Hello. I'm Wren," she introduced herself.
