I actually think this may go somewhere. They're different in all the right ways and he's a good man. She's a strong woman who would appreciate his finer points but doesn't need him to take care of her.

Tracey wrote: "Yes I like them both and wouldn't be bothered if it did work out, just felt forced in this book."
What made it appear forced? I've tried to recall the details to find that kind of vibe and can't see it. What did I miss?
Part of what worked for me is they weren't really enamored of each other before Eric's attack. Yes, Tully was paying attention to her physical attributes but he found her annoying. She thought he was too goody-two-shoes. The attack heightened their emotions, causing both of them to look at each other differently. I was glad Morelli's call interrupted them...they weren't ready for that!
What I see is an opening:)

Sorry Jonetta I missed this post!
I don't think you missed anything just how I feel and it is very hard to put my finger on it. For me I think they went from not liking each other to suddenly liking each other. But as I said that is just my feeling. It probably doesn't help that I am not connecting with the main character and the writing. I am continuing with the series as I have the next book on my shelf plus people I respect in their book views rate this series highly. However I am starting to wonder if maybe this series is just not for me and I need to move on! The next book will tell....
Thanks, Tracey. That's helpful.
I'm really hoping for continued improvement with the next book, too. Fingers crossed!
