Did you make the connection that the Emma attending the rally at the monument was Tully's daughter?

[Charlene]

I didn't at first, no. It was a hard-hitting part of the story, thinking back on all the times my children went on school field trips.

And then knowing how Tully had to have felt....

[Jonetta]

It never even occurred to me! When I got to the scene where Tully was talking to her about her evening, I was jolted.

Same for me Charlene and Jonetta. I didn't put 2 and 2 together.

I realized it was Tully's daughter as soon as her name was mentioned. I kept wondering if something was going to happen to her at the rally.

It's been a while since I read the book but I remember realizing it was her pretty early on.
