Samantha Bilodeau (madjy2max) | 3 comments I've seen many ARCs say things about not sharing excerpts from them because they may not be what is published, but I've also seen many reviews posted that include quotes from ARCs.

If I wanted to include a few quotes, would it be most appropriate for me to ask the author or publisher's permission first? I've been reviewing eGalley books for about 4 months now, but only started a book review blog 6 weeks ago, so I definitely don't want to ruin any relationships with publishers or authors.

Also along the same vein - posting a quote from an ARC outside of a review before pub date, like on a meme graphic or on social media. Okay? Not okay? Ask permission?

Crystal (wisegirlonfire) I would ask permission to be on the safe side since the ARC says not to post excerpts. You could always go in after the publication and add it in if it's in the published version.

Better safe than sorry.
