Oh boy.. good thing it was raining water and snow here and not cats and dogs. How could I resist keeping a few more if they would have landed in my yard? But honestly, three dogs are enough.. I could take another cat though. We lost one and....

hehehe no no no, sorry. I was joking. I know what the expression means. :P

I hope everyone had a good day despite the bad weather.. Big hugs to you all!!

Sam (Rescue Dog Mom, Writer, Hugger) (sammydogs) | 973 comments SNOW?!? G.G.?!? Yikes!!
I'd love it rain dogs. In our lives, there's always room for one more. : D

T.L. Clark (tlcauthor) | 727 comments Aww poopey news for Annabelle.
You're never going to please everyone. As long as you get some good reviews you're fine.
Hugs of encouragement xx

I'd prefer it to be "raining men" lalala
Actually no; I'm a happily married spud. How frustrating would that be?? ;-)

STILL feeling under the weather here.
See what I did there?
Just wish I could get better soon. My whinging is boring me after 6 weeks!?

Hope you all had a great weekend.

message 557: by Leo (new)

Leo Buijs | 34 comments I sure can relate to that. Storm # 19 of this fall we had here overnight. And the dog has to be walked. It's flooded everywhere.
The good thing is we have plenty of Belgium chocolate in the house. Could send you some. You like bitter or milk?

message 558: by Jane (new)

Jane Jago | 888 comments Yesterday we couldn't get out of the village on foot. Dog was perplexed. Couldn't understand why I wouldn't wade through two feet of rushing water,

The storm drains were like fountains.

Got a hug when I got home. Fortunately

Wow that's a lot of water! Any got into the basement? I sure hope not ;(

And Alex...same here. I have three long haired dachshunds who hate getting wet. :P

message 560: by Jane (last edited Nov 22, 2016 11:54AM) (new)

Jane Jago | 888 comments Fortunately we live at the top of the village. If we got flooded there would be houses down the hill under double their own height of water.

Dog is quite big. He can stand with his front paws on my shoulders and I'm five-nine

Sam (Rescue Dog Mom, Writer, Hugger) (sammydogs) | 973 comments TL, Hope you are feeling better. Healing Hugs!!

Leo, Alex, G.G, and Jane, hope things are dryer today. I love a huge dog you can hug as much as I love a small dog to sit on my lap. Hugs!!

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE big dogs! I miss my Newfoundland. Not that I don't like small ones. After all I have three, but small dogs (aside mine of course) scare me. They tend to rely on biting more than big ones. No mine don't bite but I have seen so many small ones who do.

Sue, we didn't get that rain here. We're lucky. I was just saying that mine wouldn't wonder why we're not taking a walk. They'd be running from me as to NOT take a walk. Especially if it rained like that!

Hugs to the rain people, and the others too of course! :P

Sam (Rescue Dog Mom, Writer, Hugger) (sammydogs) | 973 comments LOL G.G!!! You've got little couch spuds. How cute! We watched a friends' Newfie while they were on vacation. He was a gentle giant, a big teddy bear, and loved to be hugged... all 150 pounds of him! ; )

message 564: by G.G. (new)

G.G. (ggatcheson) | 2491 comments Yeah Newfies are great dogs...great family dogs too. They are gentle giant as you said but will protect the entire family if needed. I never was worried leaving him with my son. These two were like two peas in a pod.

message 565: by Jane (new)

Jane Jago | 888 comments The rain has stopped, the path is mud
I've been for a walk with my hairy bud
I washed him down with water and all
But he still shook mud all over the wall
His Dad came down and said 'What's this'
But Dog calmed him down with a hug and a kiss

Thomas Everson (authorthomaseverson) | 424 comments Alexis, better to push the release back than be unhappy with what you've put out. Publishing is just as much about you liking the story as it is the readers liking it. :)

Hugs to everyone on this Thanksgiving-eve. I probably won't be at on GR at all tomorrow to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving, so I'll do it now.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I agree with the others. Better wait and put out something you'll be proud of than rush it and regret it. It's just a small step backward to be able do jump further. :) Big hugs to you!

Happy ThanksGiving to all Americans. :)

I like complicated plots. Are you sure it's "too" complex? Or are you just having self doubts? If so, take two jellybeans and keep writing.

I knew you were going to say that. :)

It's supposed to

I'm a planner Dwayne. I already have the teasers and promo ads ready. It was supposed to be a lighthearted thing. Nothing too out of the box. But now my plot is messing with me.

I'm not sure I'll be simplifying the plot or not. But either way it will take longer to finish the story than I thought.

Pushing it back it is. :|

Aww... well, like everyone is saying, don't rush it. But, it sounds really interesting to me! So... never mind. Hurry and finish it!

Ha ha!

I've pushed back almost all my projects, but usually for the opposite reason... I felt they were too simple.

C.L. Lynch (cllynchauthor) | 316 comments I like complex plots too, and I agree that it's better to push back the release date so you can tie up loose ends and be happy with your result.

Sam (Rescue Dog Mom, Writer, Hugger) (sammydogs) | 973 comments *Sighs heavily, takes two hugs, leaves 10 for whoever needs them*

It's been a rough year. I lost my job New Year's Eve due to a health issue, we're in a financial mess, I'm in pain, anxious, depressed, exhausted, yet I can't sleep. The holiday season is upon us and people are already talking about 2017. I'm doing my best to be positive and I'm very grateful to have you wonderful people to interact with. It makes my day. Thank you.

Huge Happy & Healthy Hugs to All!!

T.L. Clark (tlcauthor) | 727 comments Oh my goodness! What a lot of need for hugs!!

Alexis; I agree with the others, it's better to delay and put out something you're happy with. ((Good luck editing hugs))

And lots of you getting an awful lot of rain. I hope you're all safe, well and coping ((warm, dry hugs))

And Sue. Oh Sue! (((biggest squishiest comforty hugs)))

2016 was always dubbed 'the year of change' and it's totally lived up to it. It's been a massive challenge for many.

Me? Oh, I quit the day job yesterday. Having been off 7 weeks poorly sick it made me realise how awful it was making me feel.
Every time I thought about the office it was like a dimly lit yet cavernous hole; sort of tunnel vision. I just couldn't go back. Happily my savings will see me through until I get another job (or the farmhouse, I hope, I hope).

I'm starting to feel human again btw. Healing still in progress.
Please; avoid labyrinthitis! ;-p

Hate something, change something!
As this year draws to a close, what do you want to do? Start the new year the right way. Be the change you want to see.

((((FREEDOM FRIDAY HUGS))))

I'm planning on a very short walk in the blue sky and wind this afternoon. That should blow the cobwebs away! :)
((healing hugs right back atcha))

Thanks for my hug. Yeah; I found my big girl pants!
I have spent so much time moaning about that job, I forgot my motto; hate something change something. I was stuck. But time away made me remember I deserve to be happy (as do we all).

xx

message 587: by Groovy (new)

Groovy Lee Hear, hear, TL
I'm so glad you're getting better; and you quit that job that was making you sick and stressing you out. I know the feeling of having to face something that you just dread. I don't know what labyrinthitis is, but it sounds evil. I will do my best to stay away from it. **Hugs** to you.

Alex, I'm sending hugs out to you. Take care of yourself and get better soon. **Hugs**

This is why I load up on vitamins (iron and C) before the cold season begins. So far, it's working. (I probably just jinxed myself:) Hint: Don't take Emergen-C, it's a waste of money...

Right now, we're in a severe drought in Tennessee. So, I'm sure we're not having any snow this year.

**Hugs** to everyone.

Hi Sue - sending you extremely understanding hugs from both me and my doggies.

Quit my job in February - chronic fatigue, anxiety, depression, then partner's business didn't fill the income gap as expected, so now we are in the process of selling our house.

So when I say understanding hugs, I really mean it :-)

As far as I'm concerned, 2016 can go take a running jump off of a very tall cliff. It's been a pig.

Congratulatory hugs for quitting the job that was hurting you. There are so many of us who just hang on and hang on while we whither away. It's always a decision I hurrah for whoever does it. Work takes up an enormous chunk of day, if it's sucking away at your soul, it's just not good for you.

Sam (Rescue Dog Mom, Writer, Hugger) (sammydogs) | 973 comments Bree, Thank you very much for your understanding, your hugs, and your doggies' hugs. Huge Hugs back to you. I'm so sorry you have to sell your house.

Funny, but not funny, I lost my job because of my health, and it was that job that was literally killing me. I had a good salary and health benefits, but considered it a necessary evil.

I agree, 2016 can go... away as soon as possible. Hugs

Sam (Rescue Dog Mom, Writer, Hugger) (sammydogs) | 973 comments Alex, very sorry for your loss of so many family members. That sucks. Several Comforting Hugs for you.

Wishing a good 2017 for all of us.

T.L. Clark (tlcauthor) | 727 comments (((GROUP HUGS)))

So many of us have learned that stressful jobs harm us. I had started saying "this place is crushng my soul" yet I wasn't listening to myself.
I had a nasty flu type thing at the start of te year and it kept coming back.
And then 8 weeks ago I got Labyrinthitis (it's effectively an inner ear infection so it knocks your balance way off which then makes you feel nauseous). It's wiped out my energy too. But almost better. I did some much neglected housework this week! :-)

Looking back I can clearly see the environment and stress were physically makig me ill. I can afford (thankfully) to take a career break so I am.

December is my month to be a full time author indeed. Yippee!!!

Bereavement is always hard. Whether it's expected or not it still comes as a shock.
Any words of comfort sound hollow to grieving people. But trust mewhen I say it hurts less with time. The year of "firsts" is the hardest. Then we slowly heal.
Know your loved ones are in a much better place. They would not want youto be sad.
Rather, it's a reminder our own time on this plant has a limit and we should live life to its fullest.
We have so many blessings here. We should embrace them.
Don't waste time being unhappy.

So I repeat (((GROUP HUGS))) xx

message 596: by Groovy (last edited Nov 29, 2016 11:06AM) (new)

Groovy Lee TL, I'm glad you can afford to take a break so you can recover fully. I'm also happy that you can be a full time author now. So, get to work:) It lifts my spirits when I can immerse myself in my work and just write. Now you have a LOT more time to do it without a lot of interruptions.

Alex, I don't do well in crowds, either. Mine is very mild, though. I think my problem is I'm a loner. But I've always been determined to face it one minute at a time, and not let it become another one of those hardships that will cripple me. I have to, or I would just sit in a corner for the rest of my life.

Take a deep breath, meditate on your strengths, think of something positive that always inspires you, and use them to get you through a crowded day or moment.

***Hugs to the both of you***

***Hugs to everyone else here. I could sure use one***

Jane Jago | 888 comments Hugs to Alex in faceless crowds
Where even silence seems too loud
Hugs to TL, take back your life

I guess that means a hug for all
Enjoy the day, and have a ball

message 600: by T.L. (new)

T.L. Clark (tlcauthor) | 727 comments Jane; that was a lovely hug filled poem. Thank you. Hugs right back at you.

This week I'm still concentrating on house cleaning (& Christmas decorating). But as of next week I will be writing. I promise. No way am I going to pass up on this opportunity. I am exceedingly privileged to be able to give myself this month, so will make full use of it.

Then in January I will be able to focus on a more fluid job market and seek a placement that lights me up. Fingers crossed!

Authors tend o be introverted, and I suspect a lot of us struggle in crowds. I know I do if I don't 'shield' myself. Especially this time of year where it gets even busier with careless busy festive shoppers. Deep brave breaths everyone. xx

Hugs to you all and your fur friends. xx
