Advice here from an elderly mad person, feel free to shrug your shoulders and stick out your tongue....
Please don't get fixated on the downsides. Take every sale, every library read and every copy you give away as a boost. The point about writing is to be read - although making a fortune would be nice too.
So. Square your shoulders. Firm your chin. And cuss like a storm trooper if it helps.
Just please don't be sad!
Small and very British hug offered.

Chin up, everyone. Like Jane says, vent in your own way and get it out of your system. Please try to enjoy your weekend. Extra Hug.
Jane, You are NOT and "elderly mad woman!!!!!
You are a seasoned eccentric gal! : D

Carol; the others are right. there's no rhyme or reason to sales. It's nothing you did right or wrong. Just keep plugging away. It takes years! Keep building your social media profile; keep chatting. Maybe blog?
My sales, even after 3 years are still low, but I don't advertise much anymore. All the online stuff was taking up precious writing time for little reward.
I write because I love it. If others read my books, great. If they don't, well it's a shame, but I hope one day more will discover them. I try not to worry about it.
C'est la vie hugs
xx
(hoorah for the weekend!)

OMG thank you that's the best keep a stiff upper lip type of thing I've ever read.

Thank you...I'm a very impatient person becoming an indie author is teaching me many life lessons.

Dwayne, You're a tough boss! : )
TL - Extra hugs for ya. Keep on writing.

Haha, gee thanks, Dwayne ;-)
Oh, of only I had one job!? I'm soooo tired!!!
But actually yesterday I discovered many many people are feeling exhausted right now. It's just that time of year up here in the Northern part of the globe.
Advice seems to be; take time to rest.
Cookies help! :)

I'm so glad you found this happy little hug-in, especially as your brought cookie scented hugs...mmmm... :P
Sue; thanks for the hugs, babe. xx
(((NEW WEEK HUGS TO ALL)))

My cold is trying to come out, and so I'm feeling sorry for myself. Bleurgh! ;-(
(*dons hazchem suit*) - germ free hugs anyone? ;-)

Is the cookie thrown in with the hug too (or just the scent)? Either way, I'll have a chocolate chip please...
Plus I can offer a hug for anyone who is feeling low today.

May your weekend be blessed with joy.
It was the Autumn Equinox yesterday. (winter is coming ;p)

Apologies.
For us up noorf, we're just enjoying the start of musty leaves, kicking them around, the dawn of hot chocolate and bonfires :)

(I'd love to be able to make a living on my books and my editing, but alas, my audience is quite meager...)

Maybe it's just because something better is just around the corner for you?
((consolation hugs))
And (((lazy Sunday hugs))) to the rest of you xx
Although it looks like there's author stuff I need to do this afternoon. Zzzz...
xx

So.
I hugged the husband. Nice!
Hugged the dog. Nice!
Hugged the horse who came to the gate for his carrot. Nice but smelly!
Still have a few floating about so here is a handful of hugs for anyone who may be in need....

Hugs to All!!!

Yeah. Stanley does that. But then he dribbles which is pretty gross

I love horses! I do Reiki for them. :)
So, hugs to your horse. I don't mind slobber or smell.
And ((HUGS TO ALL))
Hump day tomorrow (praise be!)
xx

Now I need to find a place that will just let me go hug a horse. My mom used to have two rescue horses. They were retired dressage horses who were really just lawn ornaments and subjects of her affection. They gave really great hugs.
TL, I do Reiki, too!

So so lucky!!
I need a horsey huggle!!
Missy; Reiki is the awesomest, isn't it? :)
Love & light hugs xx

I was (am still) having a panic about ISBNs. Hugs are good.
I'm sure I just misunderstood their auto message. (I hope).
OK, deep breaths.
And huge hugs to all.
xx

I hope he gets better. That is when you are happy if you have two working ones. Humans can live with one. Will keep him in my mind and prayers. <3
