Sean (redbeard007) | 95 comments In a melancholy mood. Currently listening to Say Something by A Great Big World. I just listened to Fighter by In This Moment. Up next is Run by Snow Patrol.

Vinca Russell (vinxlady) | 1562 comments I'm listening to the Suicide Squad soundtrack. Saw the film a couple of weeks ago and thought it was a bit lacking, but had a great soundtrack and some nice artistic effects.

My wife and I watched it in the cinema. I also thought it was lacking something, yet after BvS: Dawn of Depression it seemed to sparkle with energy. I think Harley pretty much carried the whole film.

Harley definitely brought the film up a level or two, she was great fun. I have to confess I haven't bothered watching Batman vs Superman yet...

Batman V Superman: Zach Snyder Is Still Afraid Of Color is utterly skippable, and I say that as a life time comics fan. It was horrid.

Kinda liked Suicide Squad, but it had issues, yes.

And Wonder Woman was amazing.

Not right this second, but the last thing I listened to was the first episode of the Podcast "Levar Burton Reads" (AKA Geordi La Forge from Star Trek!), he reads aloud selected short stories, with an obvious special interest in Science Fiction. I really enjoyed the first one and will definitely check out more.

That sounds awesome. I'm going to see if I can get that on my podcast player :-)

So there has been this commercial on all the time out here playing Gonna Build a Mountain by Anthony Newley. He was apparently a big Influence to David Bowie when he was starting out.

He also wrote Pure Imagination from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory which is a guilty pleasure of mine.

Peter W Blaisdell | 2 comments The Ahlah-las. Surfy, psychedelic, reverb drenched guitars. Lots of minor chords. They were at Coachella this year.

Also, The Blossoms. Cool pop from somewhere in the UK. Saw them live at Coachella too.

I have been on quite a Pixies kick lately. Such a innovative and under appreciated band.

Good call. Saw them at the Wiltern in June 2005. Awesome. My favorite is "Debaser."

message 262: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 641 comments Listening to Ruelle quit a bit lately.
She doesn't have ton of stuff, but I like her style. Her music has been used in shows like Shadowhunters, The Royals and The Shannara Chronicles, which is how I found out about her.

message 263: by Gary (new)

Gary Sundell | 178 comments Been watching/listening to lots of Glen Campbell stuff on YouTube. That includes the multiple versions of Glen and daughter Ashley on banjo playing Dueling Banjos. That young lady can flat out play. Watching Glen play The William Tell overture on either acoustic or electric guitar is always a delight.

Randy I honestly can't think of one bad song by them. Debaser, Tame, Wave of Mutilation and Where is my Mind are definitely near the top for me

Don't forget "Gigantic," "River Euphrates," "Monkey Gone to Heaven," "Cecilia Ann/Rock Music," "Letter to Memphis"....

Bill's Chaos (wburris) Here is the kind of music I like:

but right now I am checking out some Uxmal records, which often has too harsh of a beat for my taste:

When I've not been listening to my colleague 'sing' Little Donkey or Peter and the Wolf at work today, I've been listening to Haim's new album, or the radio's random assortment.

Nice! It kind of reminds me of Ed Van Fleet.

Vinca Russell (vinxlady) | 1562 comments I'm really enjoying 'Electronica 2:The Heart of Noise' by Jean-Michel Jarre. Some fantastic tracks on there. I actually bought it for my husband but think I've listened to it more than he has...

message 271: by Sam (new)

Sam (aramsamsam) | 364 comments I created a playlist with my favourite movie and tv series soundtracks and listen to it whenever my head is too full to read or listen to an audiobook or podcast. It is also a great reading soundtrack. (Okay so I read the first Dexter book with the OST running. That was fun!) And it inspired me to watch Catch me if you can again, but that's another story :)

Sadly, Daniel Licht who composed the music for Dexter died recently.

I did that, too. It felt like the nerdiest thing ever, but if I'm not the only one, then yay.

I have a playlist like that too.
Its a crazy mix of stuff but that means it is good to listen to in just about any mood.

At the moment, my YouTube feed is full of nerdy musical parodies and bad lip reading songs which I have been humming to... my poor neighbours! :')

Have I mentioned I don't speak football?

Tell everyone to pick up DeShaun Watson, he's been great this year, if you can ignore that pesky torn ACL he got...

Me neither. Even though I was forced to attend every home football (American) game in high school because I was in the band, I have no idea how it's played. They just run around for ten seconds, then stand around for ten minutes. Sooooo boring.
