I'm looking for the title of a contemporary book I've read a few years ago, picturing a man working as a grave digger to provide corpses to medical schools. I think some women are murdered at some point, and the book also talks about the discovery of antisepsis, with students and doctors going from performing autopsies to delivering babies without even washing their hands. Lots of women dying of puerperal fever. It must be taking place in the 19th century.

Thank you !!

The Bone Garden?

Boston, 1830: In order to pay for his education, Norris Marshall, a talented but penniless student at Boston Medical College, has joined the ranks of local “resurrectionists”–those who plunder graveyards and harvest the dead for sale on the black market. Yet even this ghoulish commerce pales beside the shocking murder of a nurse found mutilated on the university hospital grounds.....
