The book is about female PHD student whose professor goes missing. Mystery concerns some old book with missing pages where is described how to time/other dimension travel.
The book is from 21st century and possibly by a british author.
The phd student while travelling to another dimensions controls it like a game consol (her imagination).
The cover is orange/red with a small black animal (maybe lama?!) and a spiral writing around it. There were published other books with a similar cover just in differnt colours.
