I will be honest with you and say that USA doesn't have a stellar reputation in these parts of the world.
As for Croatia, there are no more disappearances, but it's been only 20 years since the end of the War and you can still feel the consequences in many areas.

(view spoiler)[Well said. I suppose he would be labeled a vigilante depending on whose eyes you were looking through. I do agree that he was just a monster and simply decided that ending the lives of Irvin and Shepherd would solve a lot of problems. I think he even felt that he'd be viewed as even more of a hero, if the story was spun right. In my mind, a vigilante will hunt down a criminal. He didn't have to hunt those boys, he had them in the palm of his hands and he was just "fixing his problem". (hide spoiler)]
