I love the sentiment behind this idea! I am so glad you're here, stirring things up, Elayna!
I'd recommend a bit of a tweak to the idea, though. if hundreds of new recommendations show up in our "recommendation feed" (which is the only place I think I become aware of these messages), I worry that they're going to drown each other out. If people only recommend on Inkshares, it's a closed system and many people might just ignore that day altogether.
I suggest we ONLY recommend on other sites, and not on Inkshares. Twitter, facebook, our own blogs, etc. That would at least spread out the messages to reach new potential readers outside of Inkshares.
Also, some really good sentiments communicated this way will become fleeting messages which don't stick to a person's project. The only way to get them to stick is for authors to copy each message as they see it and save them somewhere... or for people to use the review function. I'm a fan of everyone leaving reviews, in case you didn't know. :)

Speaking of recommendations, check out what I've been doing over at https://www.facebook.com/PeterkinInve... and show the four recommendation posts there some love. They need the popularity in order to get out to people.

Thats a good point Cara! Definitely didn't intend to be exclusive just to Inkshares, I just know its helpful when people have that little bubble show up on their page that someone recommended. But hells yeah lets share 'em out on other channels as well! I know I'll be tweeting about/posting some of them to facebook. :) LET'S MAKE THE THING A THING!

Awesome, Alexander! You were actually already on my list of ones I'll be shouting out, so YAY! :D

I was just going to ask! I only got to a third of my list, so I'm very happy to hear that we'll do this again :)

One thing I've seen a lot of and experienced is people wanting to buy my book, but not having the money right away. In the same vein there's been books I want to get, but don't have the credits or funds to support just yet either. But I still find myself being invested in the project and wanting to help in any way I can, and so I came up with #Recommendsday.
The first #Recommendsday I'm running will take place this coming Wednesday March 16th, and the premise is simple - use the 'Recommend via Inkshares' link on books you follow to recommend them and say a few kind words about their story, and if you share to your social pages, use the tag #Recommendsday! This isn't meant to be a drive for pre-orders or swaps, but rather a way for you to genuinely put forth recommendations for the books you like and believe in in a unique way with something other than the premade "I recommend blank on Inkshares". On a site that serves as a business it can be easy for us to forget that there are people behind the pre-orders, and this lil initiative is a way to hopefully remind us that there are other ways to show an author (and the rest of the world) that you love and support their story. Say something honest you felt about their story, tell why it resonated or why it was unique to you, just something to show your admiration for their work.
I'll be pushing for recommendations for my own book on my social channels, but also recommending some books I've had my eye on but haven't been able to purchase yet! Please let me know if you plan on partaking this Wednesday, as I'd love to see this drive up the recs for other people's stories!! If you've got any questions, don't hesitate to reach out to me here or over on my twitter!
