Jenna Lamia is showing up on my fiction page.... wonder if they are showing different things for different people. Gee, why would I think that, they never do anything like that at audible.... <><

No you are right I guess I didn't scroll down far enough Jenna is on there, I thought it was odd that she wasn't!

... and I don't think I've ever heard anything she has done... how weird.... I think I"m gonna have to add a column to my database that shows me the narrator too... and, isn't that just the problem with databases... you end up adding more and more fields to your records until you know everything about your books.... but it takes you an hour to input each one. LOL (that's what happens when you start talking to a nerd who started working databases with dBase and moved up thru Acess and FoxPro then switched everything over to Excel).... do they even make Access or FoxPro any more? <><

I definitely agree with Julia Whelan and Kirby Heyborne & Kate Rudd in the YA section. Although I think Jenna Lamia should be in there as well.
Also agree with Cassandra Campbell in fiction - that's what I read most and she narrated 13 of the books I listed to last year and I think 4 so far for this year.
But Richard Armitage? He only has 13 books listed in total at Audible hardly genre defining when for example Juliet Stevenson has 77 books and Simon Vance has close to 600.
For a company whose business is audiobooks, I often find they 'promote' some very odd choices of narrators and give almost no time to those who are much better and more productive.
For example Emily Woo Zeller does a great job with stories that require an understanding of a variety of Asian cultures and she has 130 books on Audible, yet I've never seen her mentioned in any of their narrator gushing. But if a celebrity narrates one book, it's all over their front page as if it's the most wonderful thing ever.

Access is now in MS Office 2016. I created a database for my DVD and Bluray collection, but I can't figure out how to enter the records. I even purchased a video course on how to use it but it was no help. Now I have a useless database that records cannot be entered into.

Miss Susie, how do you get to the "genre-defining narrator page" from the home page? i want to be able to go there in the future. Thank you for your help.

It is right on the top menu where the daily deal and such are.

On the other hand, I'm glad they put Wil Wheaton, President of the Geeks, in there. Kudos.

I'll have to see if I can find my last copy of Access... but it seems to me that if you went to the database, to the place where it looks like an Excel spreadsheet, you could enter the data just like you would enter things in Excel. When you set up your database did it create a form for you to fill out, or is that the way that FoxPro does it? Goodness it's been 15 years since I input anything into Access or FoxPro.... will have to go look it up.
And now you know why I do my databases in Excel LOL <><

It looked to me like they were trying to put the narrators in only one category even though they might read in several different categories. Maybe they were trying to show as narrators as they could so they only put them in one category. That was my take on it. <><

I think we generally agree on much, but I have to respectfully depart from your opinion on this one... I love Luke Daniels reading The Iron Druid Chronicles and, sorry, I especially love his Oberon... I guess no two people can agree on everything.
And I think Wil Wheaton is vice-president of the geeks... at least that's the position he held for a decade in Ready Player One I think. ;)

I do not see the daily deal. Neither is this visible at the top of the home page. Do I have to click on some other button first to see it?

Are you on something other than a pc or laptop? I don't know what the mobile site looks like.

I guess such is not available to Europeans. I can only get to "genre defining narrators" by clicking on the link above.
Thank you for trying to help me, Janice.

I'll try again.

There are a number of fabulous narrators who didn't make the list, but maybe that's just because they don't exemplify a single genre?

I'm glad! I just thought it was waaaaay too Scooby Doo.
Was Wil Wheaton only vice-president? It's been a while since I listened to RP1!

Davina Porter is there for mysteries I think.

"
I couldn't miss that!Nope, not on my screen. Thanks, Janice. Quite simply this is not accessible to me.

Chrissie are you looking at US audible? I ask because sometimes when I want to go to their website they redirect me to Australia without asking. Thing is, the notification that they've done so is so small!

Yes, I am at Audible.com where I am a registered member. I buy 24 credits all at once. I think that is the Platinum membership. There is no Swedish Audible and when I first joined and considered UK membership they told me I should join at Audible.com.
I do have banners, one of which now advertises the 3 for 2 sale, but nothing there about narrators. The banner alternates between three different banners, but none are the narrator one.

I actually think they are pretty right on especially Simon Vance & Juliet Stevenson for Classics I will always pick the audio over paper if one of these two are narrating. And in Young Adult/Kids I agree completely with all their choices although I have never listened to Sarah Drew so may have to seek her out.
In Fiction I would add Jenna Lamia and Bahni Turpin
And in Mystery I would add January LaVoy
