Discuss our Main pick for January!

Matthew Buchbinder | 4 comments After we discussed this book, I listened to a bunch of interviews of Lauren Groff. She said that Fates and Furies was intended to be a feminist novel from the outset. What do you think? Do you think she succeeded?

Another interesting comment - she noted that although she is married, she generally rejects the institution of marriage and only married because she knew it was important to her partner. Do you think this lens may have affected her portrayal of the relationship between Lotto and Mathilde in any way?

I didn't get too far into the book but I definitely believe it could have. I would be really interested in hearing the interviews and maybe listening to the book more, with that in mind and see how it changes the tone when I am listening.
