Just about finished Cardboard Crown by Martin Boyd This is the first in the Langton Quartet. I read them in high school 40 years ago so am revisiting the first. Yes, I will reread all of them now. Love these books.

I can't speak for the audio because I read a paper copy but it is an excellent story.

A bit too "scary and gross" for my five year old but I'm enjoying it. I would've loved it when I was about ten.
I am reading
by Juliet Marillier (AA, to my surprise). This was an excellent book I got at the last Brisbane meetup - many thank Lynn, it is great.
currently reading The Traitor's Girl by Christine WellsHolding my interest
and savouring the poetry of Wonderment edited by Maree Silver
I'm reading A Loving, Faithful Animal by Josephine Rowe. It's hard work and not exactly fun to read. Has anyone else read it?
No Ace, I haven't heard of that one :)
I'm reading
Force of Nature by Jane Harper and really enjoying it! Just over half way through :)

Phrynne, I've read that and enjoyed it, Then Clarissa and I went to see the movie, and I would not recommend it to anyone. Another Hollywood disaster that includes gratuitous sex scenes and bears only a slight resemblance to Ron Rash's excellent novel.

I am glad you said that because I saw the trailer to the movie and it was not at all tempting. But I have heard lots of good things about the book.

Just finished the second of the Slow Horses series, Dead Lions by Mick Herron. Fantastic - such good writing, characters and plot. (Will post a review soon - a bit behind at the moment.)
I'm currently reading On Wings of Thunder which is book three in a (currently) six book series. Though the series began a bit drawn out, I am really happy with where it's going now and am glad I stuck with it. Enjoying this book so far and am eager to read the rest in the series.
I'm hanging out with rampaging dinosaurs again in The Lost World
by Michael Crichton and I have fresh appreciation for the suspense this guy creates!
Currently reading (listening) Lincoln in the Bardo. It's doing my head in. Glad I am listening to it as an audio book as I think I would be more confused. At least with the audio book I am much more aware of the change of characters, but there are far too many. Glad it is only 7 hours or so as an audio book otherwise I would have been giving up.

I am really enjoying
The Trials of Morrigan Crow by Jessica Townsend - is our Book of the month - and is fabulous. 1st in a series, contracted for 3 but has plot ideas for 6 more!!!
I have been loaned
by a friend at work. As an added interest, that person is related to the author. So far I am really loving the descriptions of a rural sheep station and it's environment. The character building is a bit shakier, I feel and at times I feel as though the speech patterns are more ocker than ocker ever got on it's own. Still enjoying it.

I loved that book, and I think there's talk of a sequel. Enjoy!
I'm currently reading Words in Deep Blue by Cath Crowley - it was an unread book that had been on my shelf for a couple of years and I am so glad to have finally started reading it :)
re-read this book after recent tragic events in Florida; reminded me how many warning signs sadly go ignored.Killers in the Classroom: Case Studies of School Rampage Shooters
FinishedThe Book of Tea by Kakuzō Okakura. Really engrossing and poetical read. Now to build a tea room in my back yard and learn pottery.Onto All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque. Not sure why i've put it off for som long, enjoying it a lot.
Reading a bit of English fluff: The Little Bookshop of Lonely Hearts by Annie DarlingWhat book lover could resist a story about book lovers working at a bookstore?!
I am very much enjoying Debra Oswald's second adult book, The Whole Bright Year. I want to hold a peach up to my nose and bite into it :)

Feels Like Home by Lisa Ireland
Because I got my hot little hands on an ARC of American By Day, I am rereading Norwegian by Night so as to refamiliarise myself with Sigrid Odegard, who features in both.

I'm reading (listening to) a free audiobook I managed to get last month or so The Break by Marian Keyes which I think many of the readers here would love. My first by this author although I've seen her books plastered around bookshops everywhere.
I've started The Eye of the World, book one of Robert Jordan's epic fantasy series The Wheel of Time.
I am reading The White Princess ... Love Philippa Gregory's novels.. a must if you like historical fiction!!

I hope you enjoy that as much as I did. It is an epic amount of reading if you do the series and the best books are at the end:)
