And yours sounds so enthralling and exciting!
By Rick Riordan C.D.? I read one by a different author a couple of days ago which was directed toward tweens! So no :) As long as you're enjoying them, who cares how old we are! lol

Not wrong! I read YA now and again and am 54 years old.
I'm reading Plain-speaking Jane by Jane Caro it's very interesting. She was a groundbreaker in her career.

You're in there with good company: Jools has been is a reading slump for a while.
I loved that book, I hope it does the trick for you!

Currently reading Traces of Absence by Susan Holoubeck

Of course not, silly! I have it on my TBR and I just turned 50!

The Circle by Dave Eggers
The Circle by Dave Eggers

Also I'm listening to Bittersweet by Colleen McCullough.

That sounds interesting. I haven't read any Dave Eggers. Might start with that one.
I started Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel on my plane trip today. It is really good so far.

Next up I'm reading Apricots on the Nile: A Memoir with Recipes

I haven't read Tiger Men - I think I've been daunted by its sheer size. What did you think?

Got lots of 5 star reviews though.
That's what I was concerned about - the length and the repetition. I hope to get to it one day though :) Thanks!

I read Tiger Men recently and I think I enjoyed the latter part with the offspring more than the beginning with the original people! Although thank goodness for the family trees in the beginning to help me keep straight who was in which families!
And it was long, but I finished it in 3 days and didn't feel like it dragged at all. The only parts I thought could have been scrapped were those extracts from that book about the Tasmanian tiger - I didn't feel they added significantly to the story...

If I finished it in 3 days, Brenda, I don't think you'd take much more than 24 hours!!

Love Katherine Howell books - pity she isn't writing anymore - but great that she is now a theatre nurse.

Aahh, Is that what she's doing now? That's fantastic for her. That's one area of nursing that I absolutely could not do! Good for her. See, between you and Brenda I stay in the loop of events and current information! Thanks Sally! Good to have you back. =o)
Yes, I'm thinking when I get to the last one that I will miss her books, too, but since I'm only on the second one I can enjoy them for a little longer.
Yes I'm sad she's not writing anymore :( I'm hopeful she might miss it so much that she'll do both!

Never say never ;)

Silent Child by Sarah A. Denzil is a thriller/suspense"
That's not a genre you usually read Sally? I hope you enjoy it - it sounds good!

So far so good - a six-year-old child is believed drowned in a tragic accident but ten years later he turns up! Who kidnapped him - and who has obviously been abusing the child all this time?

and,
also listening to A Nightingale Christmas Wish by Donna Douglas.

Just picked this one up for $2.99 US Kindle. Sounds really good. I'm looking forward to hearing what you think of it. =o)

I am loving the book Brenda, even though the subject matter is not something I would usually choose.
Ryan wrote: "I didn't love Oryx and Crake but I keep hearing about The Handmaid's Tale so I'm giving Margaret Atwood another shot."
The Handmaid's Tale is the best dystopian novel I have read (twice). I read it when it was first published then re-read it recently. I haven't read any other Atwood but probably will.

Now I've started "The Guardian" by Nicholas Sparks. Until now in every book a character died - I just hope it's not the dog, I love the dog he's awesome 💙

Is The Circle by Dave Eggers the one Arika?

If you click on "add book/author" in the comment box you can type in the book title or the ISBN plus swap to the author - just follow the prompts. To do the italics, you just click "reply" when you're answering someone, and it'll automatically go to italics with their comment at the top of your box :)
