Girl, missing by Sophie McKenzie

Chocolat and it's sequel The Girl with No Shadow (also known as The Lollipop Shoes) had that element to it but it's not the forefront of the plot.

Possibly The Girl in the Red Coat -- girl is kidnapped and I believe the story alternates between kidnapped child and mother, so not quite the same, but might consider reading; more fiction than romance. Ditto for The Candidate's Daughter which has mother and one of the kidnapper's POV, as I recall

"Gallowglass" by Barbara Vine (aka Ruth Rendell) is a good one, about a woman who's stalked by the guy who kidnapped her years before -- it has some romance but falls more on the side of psychological mystery/thriller.
