That one sounds really good. And nice to see you moving through the challenge.

Pip (pippercorn) | 44 comments Just finished The Lais of Marie De France: With Two Further Lais in the Original Old French in the Published/Written Before 1600s category (my copy dates it at 1160).

This was great! It's easy to read - my copy was a prose translation of the original Old French verses - and is an awesome example of Medieval literature. My favourite lai was Bisclavret, which is probably also the most famous one, about a werewolf who is betrayed by his treacherous wife.

Andrea AKA Catsos Person (catsosperson) | 1685 comments Wow! Reading a book in old French! Very impressive.

I agree, The Color Purple was one of the most moving books I ever read. And, the movie was pretty awesome, too!

Pip (pippercorn) | 44 comments It's been a long break of reading things that don't fit the categories but I just finished Watership Down in the Children's Classic category. This book was so, so good!

I read it when I was little and loved it but if anything I think I appreciate it even more now - I definitely got more out of the epigraphs at the beginning of each chapter.

Looking forward to the upcoming new tv adaptation next year!
