That's weird. Day 8 is there (Read a book from your favorite Genre).

I am changing things up a bit though, so no bonus coins for reading it (for today's, may change again!).

Jen (reader44ever) | 2930 comments I have a question that I suspect has been answered, but I'm hoping I'm reading it wrong so here goes:

Do books for the Read-a-Thon Daily Tasks have to be started after the task is posted? Or do they count so long as we start/finish them within the time frame for the Read-a-Thon?

After the task is posted. :)

Darn it! I just knew that was going to be the answer. I started Written In Red yesterday and read 300 pages of it before the task was announced. :-( As much as I love this story and would be willing to reread those first 300 pages, it's only a 487 page book and I really need to continue the stories, so I finished it and will be moving on to book two in this series (then book three, then book four...yay!).

I might not get to do this task. C'est la vie. ;-)

That one I'll let you have, since the original plan was to start yesterday with Red, Orange for today. I only didn't because it seemed like not many were doing the tasks. But then I was talking to Rylie about it and decided to add it back in, which is why today's said Red or Orange. So on this one only, starting the Red book yesterday, I will accept it as a Bonus Task book. :)

REALLY?!?! Thank you so, so much! If it makes you feel better about allowing me to use it, I did read 200 of the 300 pages finished before the task started on the day the task was announced (100 pages read last night; 387 pages read today/tonight). ;-)

THANK YOU, Karsyn! :-)

Jen (reader44ever) | 2930 comments Oh, and I'm trying to do the tasks, but I have a number of books in my March plan to read, so I'm only probably going to be able to do those tasks that are "lucky accidents" for fitting tasks. ;-)

Daphne (daphnesm) | 937 comments I'm hoping to start working on these tasks after I finish up with Road to St Patricks! So many tasks and they are such fun. :)

Karsyn (imzadi) Megan ~

No, it's not too late to go back and answer questions / make recommendations. You may do that at any time, so feel free.

As for the coins, I kept it varied, on purpose. So, you can't just answer all the questions and get X amount of coins, same with Recs or Tasks. Each Day (Daily Questions, Daily Recommendations & Daily Tasks) will just have the "Leprechaun Bonus" if there is something for it. If there isn't, then there's no coins for hat particular one.

The first week was mainly Tasks and Recs that had the bonus. I started the bonus on the questions the 2nd week, but it bounces around even more on which have them/don't. Just check out the very first post for every day of the Questions/Recommendations, and all the Tasks are in one locked thread.

So on the days I go back and do, like days 1-9, if it has coins posted, I can collect them? Even though I didn't do it on that exact day?"

Yup. If you do the tasks, the books have to have been started after the task was posted (even if you already finished it and it fits, than that is fine, but had to have been started after that task was posted) and finished in March. But any Recs/Questions you will get coins for, no matter when you answer them / recommend them.

message 64: by Karsyn (new)

Karsyn (imzadi) Megan ~ Just make sure you are reading the requirements for everything. :) Day 1 Recs need to be a different author/book (no favorite book by same author). Color book needs to be the book recommended on other days, for Day 1 I'll accept a separate red book because others did it as well. Gotta change your favorite author or book though.

Sarah Can I still do this???

Karsyn (imzadi) The actual read-a-thon is over, but you can go through and answer the Questions or Recommend the books, if you would like.

The tasks can still be done, too, can't they? I thought books can count so long as we read them after they're announced and before April arrives?

Is that wrong? Task books had to be read during the Read-a-Thon?
