If I search a book on GR, does it show what shelves/tags there are for that particular book? If so, I'm not seeing where to find that info.

Yes, on the book page, right side is a section called "genres". Those are shelves. Also, at the bottom of that section is a link "see top shelves" which is clickable and will take you to a page of the most popular shelves for that book.
FYI....I think the issue I'm having is this another limitation of the app. Sigh. I'll have to go to the full site.

I think you can access the full site with your device. I've seen other people say you can, but I don't have one. Maybe someone else can tell you how.
On the app, once you are on a book's page you can scroll to the very bottom to see the genres. If you click on them they will take you to the shelves.
