Michelle (langleyv) | 2 comments I would just like to voice my opinion that I would prefer to have books that are available in a digital edition as well.
Aside from attempting to be more eco-friendly, I do contract work in different locations which leaves space in my car/apartment at a premium and rules out libraries since I'm not a local resident.
I am, however, looking forward to reading this book once I get my hands on a copy. =)

Kirsty Maclachlan | 21 comments There are quite a few second hand options on Amazon in the UK, if you just search for the book and then hit buying options. I picked up a second hand copy from a seller there.

All About Love New Visions by Bell Hooks

My library doesn't have it, what a shame.

Ruth (missyrs) | 24 comments UK people - I know not everyone is keen on Amazon and would rather support local book shops - which is ace! But it is or was available on Amazon!

Amazon result for UK: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-lis......"

I'll have to have it ordered through On demand service from my fave bookstore, otherwise I couldn't get it. I was so CERTAIN she'll pick bell hooks I thought about it yesterday, but I'm still upset with her for criticizing Hermione. But there are other books by bell hooks that are on the bookstore's website, I bookmarked like 8 of them. I wonder how will i manage to read all that this year, omgyes!* see what I did there?

Just search for it Sarah, you'll find it for sure at for example Barnes and Nobles, or if you order it you'll have it in a week tops, which is fortunate, I have to wait a month to get books from the UK(the bookstore has partners in the UK to help with orders and deliveries).

you can actually download it from the direct link and read it, it's in pdf format. I will later acquire the paperback too.
scribd is a website where you pay a small fee and you can read books in pdf format or txt, are able to download them as well. some books are offered for free.

Book Depository is a sub-business of sort to Amazon, but they have free worldwide shipping, and quite often a tad lower prices too.

message 74: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Kendall (_pochemuchka_) | 35 comments So I'm not 100% on the legality of this, but I'm seeing a lot of people from abroad that have no hope to get it.

Someone scanned the book and put it on slides, which you can read here: https://www.slideshare.net/mobile/pie...

I'm not condoning piracy, or anything, but I equally don't want half of our club to be left out of the conversation.

message 75: by Lara (new)

Lara (la-ra) I am very disappointed by this choice. It is the third AMERICAN book!!! There are other countries where there are wonderful feminist writers. I hope that the fourth book will be different.

message 77: by Luckness Rabbit (new)

Luckness Rabbit | 10 comments I am a recent member of this book group and I think that reading a book a month is a great initiative and I´m looking forward to reading this books but for those of us that do not live in Anglo-Saxon countries it is really difficult to find them in our own language or just at the bookshops (most of them are outdated or out of stock) or even in English.

I know that there are links to the English version of this books but I would like to read them in my own language as well and it is being really tough to fin them.

Thanks for your time and patience.

I hope you find an audio book! I might try the old google search and see if i can help you out. These things need to be accessible to everyone :)

Hey, Luckness! We always try to do our best to cover as many people and circumstances as possible with each book choice! Believe me when I say, I'm always worried about the translation availability. However, it would prove fairly challenging to find a book for which translations in every language were readily available. I still feel we made a good job with regard to that issue back in February, but we'll keep doing our best over the following months.

The same could apply to the claim for authors coming from different parts of the world - I had not really realised that so far we've stayed in the US! I'm sure next months will bring upon a bit of variety. :)

message 82: by Kaye (new)

Kaye | 3 comments Looking forward to reading this! I'll put in an order at my local bookstore, doesn't seem like there's an e-book version available.

message 83: by Alexandria (last edited Mar 02, 2016 07:07AM) (new)

Alexandria | 24 comments For anyone looking for an e-book version or PDF you could try Scribd. (scribd.com) There is a PDF on the site. It looks like you can get access to the full book without signing up with them (though I am not 100% sure). If you do sign up, they have a free 14-day trial where they won't charge your card until the two weeks are up. If you think you can read the book within 14 days it might be worth a shot to download it from them (although like I said you might be able to access the whole book without a subscription), and cancel the subscription before they charge you. This is the best I could find. Hope it helps!

Edit: it looks like there might be a couple pages missing from this PDF version. :(

Especially in different countries, not easy to find at all! I suggest putting these hard to find but recommended books in a suggested reading list in the group but keeping the challenge to more available titles!

I read it through Scribd, and it was okay. Once or twice a page was blank when it shouldn't have been, but I reloaded the page and found my place again and they'd loaded. I'd try that. Make a note of where you're up to, though, because it'll reload at the top, not where you're at.

Well. You just inspired me to do a Youtube reading! I've already started reading this book in February just of my own accord, actually, and words cannot properly articulate how awesome it is. Of course people should support the author and buy the book, but it would be a shame for people like Elisa and Melissa to miss out because of inaccessibility. If y'all want, I'll post a link when I'm finished...

message 99: by Kylie (new)

Kylie (livelykylie) I'm really excited about this book! I just requested it from my local library! With Spring Break coming up I'm hoping to get some pleasure reading done. I haven't gotten to read anything so far because either too much school work or the book wasn't available. (I just got Gloria Steinem's book after being on the waitlist for two months !!). This sounds very interesting and I'm looking forward to it :)

message 100: by Diana (new)

Diana (secondhandrose) I couldn't get a copy from any of the libraries I frequent so went ahead and ordered the book online. I'd never heard of Bell Hooks but I have read most of Maya Angelou's books (and especially love her autobiographical series and cookbook) so if Maya has sung Bell's praises I should be on the same page.
I have a couple of other things to read first but should get through this book in time for the discussion.
