8. David Mitchell has stated that he views his individual books as chapters in a larger work and fans of Mitchell may have noticed links between his various novels. Have you read any of his other works? If so which ones and what links did you notice. Please be careful with spoilers when answering this question.

I've read The Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet which I liked and I would like to read more by Mitchell.

I think the two stories are quite different though in Thousand Autumns, the author examines Jacob de Zoet's faith and the culture of Japan.
