The Satsuma Complex I hadn't read this author before and knew nothing about him as a performer. His writing style was a change from most mysteries and certainly kept me awake and reading. Characters were quite human in their various insecurities; the heroine kept me guessing whether she was a villain or not. Dogs are dear to me, so I enjoyed the part this one played. As a "little ole lady" myself, I was glad to see one play a significant part in a tale. Facetious as relationships were in presentation, they still played a meaningful part of the story. I give this a 3 1/2.
